Very Nice Shoe for Law Enforcement, Special Teams and Jailers.
These look a more green in the photo, but is a nice drab brown. They totally work with any green, tan, kaki or brown BDU's. The laces are a little long, but you can tuck them under the netting in the tongue near the the top laces. I have yet to find the laces to anchor my heal in the shoe. No biggie. I would love to buy these boots in OD green and tan.The sole of the shoe is high quality and the water proofing on the shoe is holding up nicely. I originally purchased this boot for bicycle commuting due to the super firm sole and that little lip of rubber lip on the toe box of the shoe, but I find myself wearing this shoe for everything but biking. I am super hard on shoes. I will likely have to buy an insole for a little support in about 6-8 months. Just a thought for ya.Last Saturday I stood in this boot for 10 hours without issue. No rubbing, chafing or hot feet (it was a dry 86 degrees).Dudes and Dudettes, this is a Danner Shoe all the way. Next to buy are the brown Mt. Light II's.** Update **The good: I still love these boots and will purchase again if they continue to make them. The bad: Hopefully Danner will add more colors to this line up of boot. Additionally, I hope Danner will remove the vent hole on the inner inner insole of the shoe. None of the existing photos provided show holes in the place that I have described. Conversely, it would not have prevented me from buying these Danners in the first place.Like I said before, I am very hard on shoes and these boots were no different. The stock insole and Viabram still truckin'. When purchasing these boots, also buy a ridged but flexible insole insert for your particular needs. In doing so, this will delay the sole from compressing and bowing around the sides of your feet. If you are like 158lbs, you may not have to take this advise.Update 07/06/2018: Went to the Danner Store in OR. I was told that they have discontinued this product line due to the lack of interest. Too bad cause these shoes are still holding up. I would buy these over any Merrel or Vasque's cause they are that good.

Danner Melee 6" in Canteen
Once again Danner has hit it out of the park with the Melee. I absolutely LOVE these shoes! I find it hard to call them boots because they don't feel like boots. They are so incredibly light! Excellent foot & ankle support. The tongues have a cool built in pouch on the top fronts to tuck the laces in after tying them(something I have always loved about my Salomon shoes & boots). The Vibram soles are excellent all around grippy soles geared more toward flatter/firmer ground but could do just fine off the beaten path on light to moderate hikes in the mountains. For backpacking I would personally want stiffer and more lugged type soles. They also have excellent shock absorbing soles! I spend a lot of time on pavement and hard flat concrete floors and they are superior in this element! Overall they are very well built as you would expect from a Danner product! About the only thing I could think of adding to them will be Dr Scholls custom orthotic insoles and the Gore-Tex liner that's found in the all black model. But with some good aftermarket hiking boot waterproofing product applied to them and they will be ok. For sizing I would say they run true to size - I went with my usual foot size and they fit perfect and require very little break-in time! If you are considering these new boots - YOU CAN'T GO WRONG! I highly recommend them or any other Danner product for that matter!

The have sturdy construction, an excellent toe bumper & the grip ...
I haven't had these long enough to put through the paces & warrant a 5 star rating...but so far I'm really liking them. I am a gear junkie & own a pair of footwear for every occasion (light hiking, backpacking, tactical, climbing, etc..) I was looking for a pair of boots that I could wear casually while not sacrificing the performance of my tactical boots...just in case. I have Merrel Proterra & Lowa Zephyrs that I switch between, but the Proterras have holes & the Zephyrs are a bit too bulky for casual wear. These fit the looks bill perfectly. The fit is snug so order a 1/2 size up. The soles are stiff too but I haven't fully broken them in. I've gone to dinner, the movies, shopping, & the range. I'm confident at any moment I could go "Die Hard" in these if needed. The have sturdy construction, an excellent toe bumper & the grip seems fine for anything short of a true hiker. The toe box is wide, these remind me of my Merrell Trail Gloves...roided & up armoured!

was really anticipating these and was quite disappointed. I've tried two competitor tactical boots
Wow, was really anticipating these and was quite disappointed. I've tried two competitor tactical boots; UnderArmour and a Nike Pair. The previous boots were extremely light weight and super flexible and were not what I wanted in a boot. the Danner boot had the stiffer Vibram sole I was after and the boot Nylon upper was quite rigid but flexible. The Toe Box was the disappointing area of this boot. The Toe Box was wide enough in a normal size. It was the height of the Toe Box!!! Regardless if you went to a Wider size. the toe Box was so low and exerted far to much pressure above the knuckles of your toes. I even swapped out the innersole to a thinner one, No Joy. they almost had the perfect assault/casual work boot. IMHO-dh

Tough boots.comfortable boots. Imported and not eh rated
Im a New York City electrician I do a lot of walking through out the day and these boots are just excellent if your jobbing aside from the city I have also used them for hiking and shooting and they are light and provide excellent stability. The only down side to these I see is they are made In China and aren't water proof. They are designed though for the water to drain out of the boot and every time I've gotten caught in the weather You don't even notice your foot is wet because they dry out quickly. Not EH rated though
