Excellent item and works well.However, be aware that there has been a recall on these. If you have one check the Martindale website. They have a list of serial numbers and the one that I received was within that group. Not a huge issue, as Martindale sent out a prepaid envelope and promptly returned a new updated model. I bought mine approximately 9 to 12 months ago so I suspect that any bought now are perfectly okay.Please don't my comments put you off, it is an excellent item and I'm sure that all issues have been resolved. I wouldn't be without one of this type

A simple and easy to use tester from a quality manufacturer, I went around my house in about 30 minutes and now have peace of mind. This tester also checks the quality of the earth connection, not all socket testers do this. Remember that an appliance with an earth fault will only blow the fuse if the earth connection can carry enough current to blow the fuse.

I like this tester as I found it really easy to use, it gives you a quick way to test the electrics without disconnecting any wiring. .

Does what I wanted.Smaller than I expected. Identified insufficient earthing correctly. Quite expensive for what it does. Seemed to do what electricians more complex instruments did

Excellent device for checking household sockets.

A really good tester that convinced me I need to get the earth to my home checked.Just one word of warning, if you're red/green colourblind, even just slightly you won't be able to use this as the three light colours used will be indistinguishable to you. That's 1 in 12 European men so not an insignificant number - shame Martindale didn't think of this and use different LED colour indicators in the design.Thankfully my wife was able to read the tester for me so all good!
