I repair headlights for my business and this is a must have for sealing up cracks in headlight tabs. Works great, heats up fast and for the price, it’s hard to beat. I use mine probably twice a day and haven’t had any issues so I don’t doubt its ability to keep up. I also fixed my kids tractor trailer hitch on one of his toys with it and he thought that was pretty cool. Easy to use too with just the click of a button to turn on and off.

So after searching for videos on welding plastic, I came across this product in technique. Once you see it and get one and do it, it makes total sense. Can’t tell you how many pieces of broken plastic on cars I’ve thrown away over the years when I could’ve fixed them with this. Probably some of the best five dollars I’ve ever spent for a tool!

Iron showed up on time and in good condition. First time using it, started smoking and getting hot. Some smoke was expected since it was the first run. In the 2 minutes it lasted it smoked the whole duration and finally pop… the led light went dormant and done. No response. It just as quickly cooled down would not turn back on. It obviously burned something up inside. Very disappointed didn’t even get my project started, no less finished.

It get hot enough to melt plastic, it’s simple. Does smoke a fair amount when you first turn it on but this goes away after its heat cycled

I only used it once and it worked great. I’m going to try it on my nylon belts and garbage can lids in the spring.

It comes in handy for repairing plastic stuff.
