Great kit at a good price for older/simpler vehicles
Great kit at a good price for older/simpler vehicles. Unlike many 'kits' everything needed is in the box no matter the installation. Does not require master mechanic status but it is imperative that the instructions are read....and followed, the odd negative reviews I've come across sound as if the reviewer didn't. I have a thirty year old motorhome and this is a welcome cost effective addition.

Amazon shows its true colors
This review will probably not be posted by Amazon. Lets see.First of all: This cruise-controll is made way to complicated with to many compromises to reduce parts. For example, the emergency cut-out switch was made with one single wire detecting weather the brakes are applied (curent on), weather the clutch is applied (grounded via brake-lights) and as a "bonus" it checks if your brakelights work (it uses a brakelight-bulb as earth). Of course if you have LED brakelights, it no longer works. If your brakelight-switch switches earth rather than current, it no longer works. Etc etc.To many "smart" ideas together make a recepy for failure.Anyway, After instalation the unit did not pass its selftest and thus was clearly broken.I asked Amazon for help and they gave me 3 options: Have a replacement send asap and return the broken item within 30 days after receipt. Send the broken item back and receive a full refund. Or, keep it and receive a partial refund.Naturaly I opted for nr1; Have a replacement send asap so I could swap the broken part (the controll-box).But, when I informed Amazon of this, a few hours later, they had changed their mind and told me I first had to send back the complete unit and order a new one myself (and pay for shipping old and new unit etc). There was no arguing, they kept their foot (rather boot) down. After removing all parts from my car, causing permanent damage to the dashboard due to drilled holes and the (very high quality) double-sided tape that fixed the buttons in place, I followed the "return items link" they provided me... which did not alow for a return (Return window closed it said). Now comes the really "good" part... I tried to communicate this problem to Amazon in various ways, but Amazon is now ignoring my attempts to contact them. I receive the standard message "we will contact you within 6 hours"... but no one does.So utterly childish... Hence... No more Amazon for me... Never ever. The manufacterer, Waeco, does also not know what customer-service is. I have 2 years warranty, but no one answers emails not phone.

Only suitable for urban driving as ceases to work over 50 mph. Waeco has ceased to respond to emails.

Nice kit
I've been using one of these for years on my motorome back and forth to Spain. Magnet and solonoid on the prop shaft for speed sense. Took about a morning to fit if memory serves.Don't leave home without one. I love it JRP

Great cruise control
Very good kit, easy to install. I too used the electronic input to speedo. The system works very well and I use it all the time.

Handy thing
I fitted one of these about a year ago to my Mazda Bongo. The speed of the vehicle has to be read by the control system and a few options of how to do that are supplied. I used the, for me anyway, easy option of connecting it directly to the speedo electronic input and this works perfectly. Good instructions are supplied to help you do this. I lost the use of my right arm 2 years ago and still managed it OK so it's not hard to fit. Although there are some issues about slightly more fuel being used in hilly areas, I find that one of it's good uses is setting 30 mph as it's so easy to drift past it and get points, and that don't mean prizes. Does what it says on the box and I'm very pleased with it.
