The bar itself is made well, but I cannot adjust my unit overall to get the distance I need. It extends the exact distance, with no option for adjustment. This is frustrating because I need to shorten things about another foot or so, but none of the poles here or from the base unit allow that.I need something with more adjustment.

It works, if you have a drill press and metal files.I picked this up to extend the VideoSecu mount I purchased a year prior. It was adequate in the sense that I have the right tools to alter it to fit.On one end, the hole spacing was incompatible, so I had to drill a brand new hole - which requires quite a bit of precision. The other end had holes in the correct location, but too small. That's an easier problem to fix.Also, the insert end of the pipe was slightly large for the fit, had to spend some time with a file to make it go in.In all, I added an hour of fabrication time to do the necessary altering, but I couldn't find anything else better for the price. So, I just sicked it up.Finally, what's with the shipping cost which is more than the part? Shady.

Just installed the extension for my ceiling mount and it makes a load of difference. For reference I have 12' ceilings and a 55" flat screen. The bottom of the screen is roughly 6'1" off the ground. This gave me an extra 20"+ drop and makes for a much more comfortable viewing angle. For extra safety I did not max out the mounting length. I left a review on the actual ceiling mount to show the difference in drop.

Very important piece that works perfectly with the very good ceiling mount. However should have been included in the ceiling mount kit as the price is ridiculously high compared to the basic ceiling mount.
