Great for the price
Finding hiking boots for wide feet has always been a challenge for me. Fortunately, the Hi-Tec Boots are a perfect fit. These are the only boots that fit my wide feet comfortably without any pinching or discomfort.I've purchased around four pairs over the past few years. While they do wear out after about a year, with the sole starting to come apart, they still offer exceptional value for the price. Considering the comfort and fit, these boots are unbeatable for anyone with wider feet.Despite the durability issue, I keep coming back to these boots because they offer the best fit and comfort I've found. For the price, they’re a fantastic option!

Great from the start
Ordered as a boot for daily dog walks cross country. Like so many Hi-Tec products, these boots were comfortable right out of the box. Price was very affordable. I am very happy with them.

Cheap(-ish) but good (-ish)
These seem to get very varied reviews - from * to ***** with nothing much in between. My own experience suggests an overall ****. To start with, they were a comfortable fit right out of the box, not usual given my battered feet (culprit: 70 years of boots and wellies). I've now had them a year and wear them pretty much every day. Distances covered vary from short walks in local woods to days out on fells. Conditions underfoot also vary, from moderate to rough. I'm in Cumbria so, wherever and whenever, more often than not there's a lot of rain. After a year of that sort of use, I can report: overall condition of boots, still fine (soles somewhat worn but still solid; soles and uppers still firmly attached to each other); waterproofing has worked equally fine, even on days of steady rain. (I doubt they'd withstand a day on the fells of really torrential rain - but, then, few boots would.) One small criticism and one assumption. Criticism: the laces supplied are flat, not round, and not very sturdy: it's easy to get them partly caught in the top eye and for the lace as a result first to fray and then to disintegrate completely (verb. sap.!). Assumption based on the fact that the tread on the soles is not very deep (in places, it hardly exists: more a surface pattern than a tread): I doubt these would grip well in really frosty conditions. (Last winter, in my part of Cumbria at least, was exceptionally wet but also quite mild so it wasn't an assumption I was able to test in practice.) The disasters other people have had with them suggest a problem with quality control? Or a change of supplier? Or both!

Pennine way
Walked the Pennine way in these boots doing a total of 325 miles and boots were amazing.Great comfy wide fit, couldn't really fault them for the price I paid around £50. Sure they weren't 100 percent waterproof but for the money great value

Do NOT buy these boots!
I really wanted to like these boots. And don't get me wrong, I am happy to start repairing my walking boots after 2 or 3 years of use. But I bought these last July! There is a very obvious production fault. HiTec are sticking the sole to the material applied to the toecap. The problem is this material is NOT adhering to the toe and is peeling off. Obviously when it peels away it also takes the sole with it (see my photos). These boots have had reasonably light use and as I'm a wildlife photographer (among other things) I'm not out in horrible conditions (lightweight I know!)Other issues I've found are as follows:When I first put these boots on they felt great, the extra width is really good. However, after a short while walking in them, it's apparent that you lose the benefit of the extra width because the design still has a tapered toe. This design is self-defeating and I hope HiTec will read this. If you're adding width, please make sure not to taper the toe, at least on the side of the big toe. 'Bunion' might be an amusing term, but it conceals the painful reality for many people. See this 'taper' in my photo. I had hoped I might be able to 'wear in' the boots to make them more comfortable but it's clear there's no time to achieve this given that they're falling apart. The sole has very poor friction and is pretty useless/dangerous in the wet.The boots simply aren't waterproof, but I'm not sure if this is a claim made by the manufacturers.I was dismayed by the bright orange elements to the boots (top and bottom). I want to use these to walk in the wilds, I'm not taking them to a disco! Yes I know many mammals can't see orange very well, but plenty of other wildlife can. These boots are going back. They say you get what you pay for, but at nearly £70 I didn't even get that!

Fourth time lucky
I have recently sent back 3 pairs of boots all size 13 uk and all badly fitting for me . Some expensive big brands failed me with ill fitting boots. Then I decided to give these Hi-Tec Men's Banderra Ii Wp Wide High Rise Hiking Boots a go .........and bingo ...perfect fitting boots. I could actually move my toes around . They are light ...seem to be well made and have a good grippy sole.I am not using these for hiking though I am sure I could....I use them for my fishing trips .I expect them to be good for most of the year.....and will change to wellies when things get too wet. Very impressed and relieved that I have found a boot that actually fits well
