Product Description A torque wrench is a tool used to precisely apply a specific torque to a fastener such as a nut or bolt, which are normally in the form of a socket wrench with special internal mechanisms. When it’s crucial to be precise in regards to the tightness of bolts a torque wrench should be used. It gives the user the ability to measure the torque applied to the fastener so they can match this to the specifications of the application at hand. This particular torque wrench is a click type, so at the point where the desired torque is reached, the clutch slips, signalling the desired torque preventing additional tightening. The most common form has a ball detent and spring, the ball detent transmits force until the preset torque is reached, at which point the force exerted by the spring is overcome and the ball “clicks” out of its socket. The Rolson 42759 3/8” drive torque wrench has been manufactured with a reversible ratchet head. The Nm and Lb/in scales are engraved on the barrel of the wrench. The micrometer type sleeve allows accurate pre-set torque values to be set. When the torque is reached the wrench produces an audible click and a slight release of tension. The torque wrench is 280mm in length 20-80ft/lbs. Box Contains 1 x 3/8 inch Torque Wrench

Rolson - a branded name but not good quality it seems...
The Rolson Torque wrench simply didn't work properly - there was no audible clicks or vibration (other than the ratchet action) to indicate that the desired torque setting had been reached. The item received simply performed the function of a wrench. The item looks the part but is not functional. The units on the bar are in ft pounds or kg ... (another imperial unit). A conversion table that is on paper leaflet comes with the item and you must use this to convert units into Nm (metric). The head has a switch that alters the direction from clockwise to anticlockwise situation behind the head where sockets are attached. This is easier than popping the head out and placing it the other way around.I am sending my wrench back and will buy another brand. I also bought from Rolson other products which have proven unreliable, i.e. a torch.
