UPDATE: I am attempting to see if they will replace the glasses I reviewed here. However, I like them so much that I bought another pair primarily due to their very low weight. They can also be vastly improved if the transition from +3 to zero at the top needs to be rethought. The zones are too narrow, and their darkening in sunlight would benefit from being darker, perhaps twice as dark within the top zero correction zone. For the premium price (first reviewed when they cost twice as much as they do now.) (and with the price reduction, I have added a star) of these transition readers, I expected better: the inherent problem with frameless glasses is the attachment of the temple. I am elderly and took extra care not to stress this part. Still, as you can see, the metal stud section in the alignment of the right temple has sheered cleanly at the level of the front of the lens while holding the attachment end firmly in a watchmaker mini vice and then bending it slightly at the hinge end to increase the inward pressure of the temple slightly. The stud failed as soon as I put them on after doing this. I assume it was silver soldered to the hinged bow, as seen in the appended snapshot. It would be fine if I could detach the hinge bow entirely and then repair it, and I do have the needed silver soldering skill. The attachment of the bow to the lens was made in a one-way method, which is analogous to what appears to be microwave plastic fused riveting. You must be aware that even a minor attempt at fitting these to your head and face shape may fracture this bond. If they replace my first pair, I will further append this review... Transition lenses do take getting used to, and the narrow spacing of the zones can exacerbate this problem. This can make learning to live with them time-consuming, so they may only be for some.

So I have quite a few complaints about the product- none about the seller. The depth of focus is very narrow- you have to have the item you are reading at a very precise and limited distance for it to be clear. I was not able to find any area whatsoever where I could look out at infinity and be in focus despite these being progressive lenses. Left to right if you turn your head items in the periphery move faster than items in the center because of the uneven magnification. This can almost feel nauseating. I would return them if that was an option, but it’s not. They do look nice and they come in a great case, but I personally have found that they’re pretty much unusable.
