Good value sound base
This is a Great soundpiece and a necessary add on to any smaller flat screen tv.Though it does have its limitations:Pros-Sound quality is very good. When turning tv or blu ray player on this sound base comes on too.TV sits nicely on top. ( there are limitations as to the weight it will hold though )Relatively easy to set up.Volume and mute functions sync up nicely with tv remote. There are several comments on some reviews on here regarding the clear voice function. However, after some careful reading of the instructions, I found it quite easy to adjust the volume on the front speakers to enhance the vocals on movies etc. I also increased the volume on the surround sound speakers for maximum effect. The price is very reasonable (£230)Musicast app works great with this.(Provided the soundbase and your phone are on the same wi-fi network. )You can play music from your phone direct to this. You can also save 3 favourite internet stations which you can access from the remote control.Limited wiring trailing around the room to be concerned about. The base output from the 2 sub and main woofers is very impressive. ( or so my neighbours tell me! Lol )Cons-This sound base is geared to use via your tv. Ie you can either listen via the optical connection or Hdmi ( ARC is best if your tv has it ) but When I tried to connect my digital tuner via the spare optical connection the sound base doesn't recognize it! Even when selecting the optical port as the choice for the sound output both for this and my tv. In other words, its either or!There are very little other connection ports for other items to play through this. There are 2 Hdmi connections. One ARC and 1 standard. It also has a 3.5mm single Phono port. This is very basic if you want digital clarity. That said, the sound quality isnt bad.The sound levels across the various inputs varies alot. When switching from tv to internet radio etc the volume increases quite substantially, so be ready with the remote to turn the volume down before switching. ( although this could be unique to my set up )In my opinion, you cant replicate true 5.1 sound when the speakers are all in front of you. However, the surround option does offer a good listening experience. Please note this review is my own opinion and reflects my understanding on how this works and my setup only. But, I hope it gives you a good insight of this items capabilities.Overall, it does offer good value for moneyDespite a few of the negative points I've mentioned.Psssst...I have just added a Yamaha NSSW050 Powered Subwoofer and the sound has massively improved. The downside of this is you need to manually adjust the bass on the speaker itself according to what you are watching as it doesn't respond to the remote. ( it is close to where I sit so is not too much of a problem ) and you will most likely need to use an extended single RCA/ coaxial cable depending on where you site it.All in all, for just over £300 this set up is pretty good. I do recommend the sub woofer to complete it though.

Packs a punch and crystal clear 👌
What can I say only it's amazing speaker when it first launched it was 600 quid and now you can pick it up for just over 200 buy it you won't be disappointed but don't expect the same quality of a sesperate amp and speakers but for a slim unit packs a punch run it it in with music for about 2 hours on medium volume 5 stars from me ps sounds has good has my Bose Soundwave 😉

Good value for money
Sizing of this unit would restrict it to a 42" tv, unless it's on a separate shelf. The main appeal for me was the Blutooth transmit on this unit and the intention was to use it for earphones/small speaker for my wife who is hard of hearing. Unfortunately it was impossible to sync the audio/video and I had to resort to hard wiring.General set up was a little 'trial and error'. Eventually managed to link tv and SkyPlus box via HDMI, so that the Sky remote controlled the basic functions. The overall performance was quite good, although because of furniture and siting, getting true surround sound would be impossible. The subwoofer output seemed low and was only just enough to drive a Pioneer sub, but wasn't exactly ground shaking. Haven't needed to use any of the other facilities and so can't comment on them.Despite it's limitations, I think this unit is still good value for money.

Yamaha build quality with usual excellent Yamaha sound.
Versatile sound system with plenty of ooomph. Size of room dependant but will fill most homes comfortably. We have very large lounge so we added an external subwoofer and nowsound is simply stunning.

Great sound but it’s big
Great piece of kit but it’s huge and the indicator lights on the front are useless.
