Henchman Professional 12ft 3 Adjustable Leg Tripod Ladder

This tripod ladder is so sturdy and stable that you can climb to the top platform without any fear of the height and in fact you can enjoy the view over all the neighbourhood from a completely new aspect. The ladder has a very wide base which reduces in width by way of a beautiful curve until about a third of it's height from where it remains parallel to the top, you can therefore see why my wife calls it my Eiffel Tower. I like the fact that it has a special platform at maximum permitted working hight with a curved bar at the very top to lean into so that you can safely have two hands free for working.

I'd wanted a Henchman ladder for about 20 years, but delayed purchasing as (a) they're not cheap, (b) nobody seems to rent them out near me so I couldn't try before buying, and (c) I didn't know anybody who had one to get their opinion. I eventually bought one this year, and it is as good as I could have hoped.I have lots of high hedges, a number of trees, wisteria, climbing roses, and assorted other climbers to manage. I also have a garden that generally slopes in one direction, but which has some fairly uneven bits along the way. This Henchman ladder copes with the lot. With it's three adjustable legs, a chain connecting the back leg to the front section, a much wider base than top, and grips on each foot, it is incredibly stable. I'm comfortable working at the top permitted step, not having to worry about it wobbling, as it doesn't. Even people who normally avoid ladders have been up this to experience how stable it is, and not one has been worried by it.Definitely recommended.

Now let’s start with the bad bit - these are ludicrously expensive for ladders.However they really are worth it. I hate heights and have had some close shaves using a hedge trimmer on a step ladder these were exactly what I needed.They are safe and sturdy and the 3 adjustable legs are really useful. I would say spend the extra for that feature.My advice just don’t tell the wife what they cost..

Great piece of kitPreviously used a scaffold tower, which was tiresome to erect and move along the hedge.This is easy (light weight) to move and set up.Took a while to gain confidence to stand on the top platform at 12 feet in the air, but after a few up and down the ladder your confident its solid and will not topple over.There are cheaper options but the benefit of Henchman is the birds nest cradle at the top which allows you to lean and rest easily whilst cutting.
