This is a well made- bird friendly bird house. We had a bird moved in within a week. Very sturdy- very good quality- easy to mount on a pole or can be mounted to a tree. We purchased this to replace another one (different brand and cheaper) that was blown to pieces a few days after we had mounted it. This was a bit pricier than the other brand but you can tell the quality is so much better. It has withstood a couple of high winds and strong thunderstorms already. Would not want the bird family to get hurt in an unstable structure. This is solid!

These bird houses are wonderful. They are well built and the bluebirds love them.

I'm an old wood worker and this definitely looks like Pine wood to me. My wife coated them with some water proofing that had no real odor. Although they do come with some type of waxy coating. I bought 4 of them and for the money it was much easier than building more of my own. Nice detail and design. Metal ring around opening to protect from squirrels chewing their way in. Also inspection opaque plastic sliding material to check nest/eggs. A metal plate to hold nest above bottom of bird house. It is much smaller than my homemade Bluebird houses. I drilled (with drill bit extension) a hole through the bird house entrance to mount the house to a cedar post, plus I used the top hole as well.

I had previously written a review complaining about the insert not being clear and sent a complaint to the seller; they responded immediately and said there was a film on it I had to remove. Should have thought of that myself, but I didn't look carefully enough at it since it was a gift. Now that I know the insert is clear, I am very happy with the house. It is well-built, has plenty of ventilation, space between the floor and the bottom so mold in the nest won't be an issue, hinges for easy cleaning. I think the recipient will be delighted with her gift.

PERFECT

This Blue Bird bird house is just about 3 months old, and part of the roof has fallen off. The bird house is on a 12-foot pole, and I have not taken it down to see if the birds were nesting at the time the roof came off. Obviously, the return time has expired, so the birds and I are stuck with a bird house with an open skylight.It is a nice-looking bird house that did attract Blue Birds, but it is not much use with an open roof.

I bought this as a gift and am very pleased with my purchase. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a beautiful bluebird house.
