Rees Harps Harpsicle Harp Sticks

I bought my husband a sharpsicle harp for Christmas with an optional stand. As he was practicing he said he wish he could hold the harp closer while playing. He removed it from the stand, but found it hard to balance and play on his lap. I ordered the harpsicle stick, and it made all the difference. This little handy tool makes it easy to balance the harp while playing.

Unlike the picture, the Harpsicle Stick I got was lined not with cork but with a rather slippery black felt. It constantly needs readjusting as it does not hold the harp for long no matter how tight I screw it together. Also, the stick was square not round. At the angle needed for playing, you get the corner edge on your lap and not the flat part - not very comfortable. All in all, a disappointing purchase - especially for the price! If I got what I ordered, meaning if I got what the picture really showed, I would have been happy.It's not worth the frustration of returning. I'm just going to have to rip off the slippery felt, apply my own cork and attach small bolsters of fabric to the corners where it rests on the lap for more comfort. This is the second time I've bought something from Rees Harps company and it's not as advertised (the first being the Harpsicle stand). Doesn't give me any trust in them for any future purchases, that's for certain!

i have changed my review from 1star to 4.the harpsicle stick i received does not look like the one advertised, and the felt is only on one side, so i had doubted the quality. but i called Rees harps/HarpsicleHarps directly to ask them. As it turns out, they stopped putting the felt on both sides because it made it too slippery.So, i was a bit hasty in giving this amazon seller a negative review, and for that i sincerely apologise.

Easier to control the angle of the harp in your lap than a strap. Paint it the color of the harp and insert it. Turn it vertically when you put it in the case.

I know nothing about it but it looks as advertised, was delivered quickly, and it was what my wife requested.After Christmas now and my wife loves it.

The stick had two black strips (not in the picture) that were not evenly glued in place. The odd shape of the stick itself (not round as shown either) made it uncomfortable to use. Had to return it.

No damage on the product received, and it works fine with the harp.

It holds it up just fine. I don't normally need it but it's easy to use and good for when I teach younger kids.
