Ordered my shoes in a size 8 and they fit great! I would have to agree that they are true to size. Hope that helps.

I have lace up converse that I slip on. You can tuck the laces if you want to not have to worry about tying them

No,not thick or elevated. So,no extra height added from flat soles. They are designed exactly like the more expensive converse low top all stars for women in different colors.

Q: I wear a size 7 1/2. Does an 8 accommodate for the half size?

I think you should be okay with a size 8. I wear between a 6 1/2 and 7 and the 7 fit perfectly!
