Smart, Practical and forward thinking!
I bought these boots for work and they are fantastic. They are comfy out of the box, look really smart and polish up well. The side zip makes them really practical and it feels extremely long lasting and robust. The zip means I can get them on and off in a moment. When I bought these I was concerned that the zip may rub against my ankles. I was wrong! As soon as that zip is up you don't even notice it is there.I also have quite wide feet. When I wear boots they usually look huge but these ones look nice and slim but feel roomy and spacious inside! I will be buying these again when i come to get a new pair.

Perfect boot for front line Police Officer.
I have been a frontline Police Officer for eighteen years and have struggled to find a Magnum Boot which was as robust and comfortable as the Elite 2. I finally have the answer. The Vipers took a few days to break in but now they have they are a dream. Sturdy, supportive, grippy, couldn’t ask for more. The side zip is a dream too. I have only owned these for a month though so not sure how the non vibrant/Michelin sole will last but time will tell.

Good item
Good boots really comfy but feet overheat in them and basically make my feet feel like they are sunburnt.

Comfortable boots. Zips mean you don't have to undo the laces every time. I am a size 12 in normal shoes these are perfect when wearing thick boot socks (decent fit without still).Didn't make much breaking in. Softened up in a few days. Did pretty well in the snow. Can't comment on longevity as I have only just received them.

Long term loyal customer ...disappointed!
I have been buying Magnums for what must be decades by now, after they weaned me off the traditional Doc Martin. The Magnum Amazon was a SUPERB boot. So good that when they decided to discontinue it ...I stocked up! I'm now down to my last pair. This March, I treated myself to this boot, foolishly relying on good reviews & not actually trying it on in a shop.Disappointing. My first impression was that they were like an UGG boot ...so much padding it's no wonder they were extremely hot. A noticeable omission to the design is the removal of the very usefully tape loop on the back of the boot, making them difficult to get on. It's been four months now & these boots are literally painfully slow to break in. I'm still nursing blisters. I will not be buying these again (there is nothing I like about them) & I'm kicking myself for wasting the money. I will be looking at other brands. Why oh why, did they discontinue the Amazon boot...?

Great boots
Fantastic boots. Really light, feels like I'm wearing trainers. This is my second pair, the first one lasted exactly 1 year and 6 months wearing them almost every day. the boots were still fine but I wore out part of the bottom sole on each boot. It's mostly because the way I walk, but keep that in mind if you are a person who wears out the soles of your shoes.

Not what I'd hoped
I have a slight issue with the style of the zip and the quality of it. I have several pairs of boots from other manufacturers all with side zips and none of them have the 'gusset' that stays behind the zip, restricting the opening. In my experience, the design of these Magnums makes the boots harder to get on and off- they could do with a rear loop to pull on. The other alternative is to simply cut out the restrictive web behind the gusset, I guess, but that'll undoubtedly make them less water resistant.I also suspect it will regrade the life expectancy of the zip which is less robust than all my other boots and - if you start catching them on your trouser bottoms (if you tuck those into your boots as I usually do) that'll probably bust the zip as it looks a little weak. They're ok - the sole and the rest of the build quality are what I'd expect from Magnums (I've owned enough before) - but, for me, the zip - the major selling pot for me - is the weak point
