Pretty Amazing How It Folds Up, More Stable Than I Expected
I really like this little stool, even if I had some initial concerns about its stability. it's a little strange that you can pick it up and it folds flat immediately, but then whenever you hold the handle and push downwards it opens up and it's pretty stable. I do believe it probably holds 400 lb as claimed, as it's pretty solid with me on top of it; although I don't weigh anywhere close to 400 pounds, I am not a small person. It's a little taller than most step stools, so it really does double as a stool to sit on in addition to being a step to reach items on a top shelf.I really wish that there was a way that the side hinges locked securely. it would make me feel a lot better about hopping up on top of it; as it stands, I think that I will eventually feel safe standing on it, but I really have to concentrate on where I step so that I feel balanced. Part of this is because the top is not really that large. When I've tried to wiggle around on top of the stool to test how it behaves, the side hinges that donโt lock don't seem to cause any problems, so maybe it's just all in my mind. Itโs a little spooky at first since my other two step stools donโt fold or move in any way.Overall I think this is a good product and I'm glad that I ordered it. If I were to suggest any improvements, it would be to add some sort of more positive locking mechanism for the side hinges so that the legs don't squirm around nearly so much. Kind of like the plastic sawhorses lock their support shelf in with a click. Or add a little bar to tie the side hinges together when the stool is open. Iโd gladly take a second or two to deploy and remove something like that just for my own peace of mind.I'm going to give this item four stars. The engineering is impressive when something that folds so easily and opens with gravity can be pretty solid and stable.

Good foldable/storable stool but not an "easy" step
I picked this up for an extra step stool for my vertically challenged wife. It ships nearly assembled in the folded arrangement. One thing to note when unpacking and getting it ready for use is to be careful NOT to throw away the hinge pins that are attached to the packing cardboard. They can be easy to miss.As a step stool, we found that the 17 1/4 ish inches is a little much if you have shorter legs or knees that are suspect. It proves to be a little much going up and down without an intermediate step, especially with any repetition. The stool itself is very sturdy and I feel comfortable standing or sitting on it at more than 220 lbs. When you are done with it, simply fold it up and put it away.

Solid enough and quick to move
I have a lot of high storage in my shop and up to now I've had to use tall stools that are a pain to get on and then too tall once you start using them. This folding unit is exactly the right height for me and bonus points for being easy to store out of the way. I'll mention that due to the nature of it folding there is a small amount of movement but not enough that I ever worry when standing on it. When I'm around 6ft on this I can easily reach things that are on 7ft shelves. I know it sounds like a small things but I love that just grabbing the handle makes it instantly collapse and is ready to store. At just a couple inches wide it can slide in about anywhere. No worries though; if someone think's they're funny the collapse won't work while you're standing on it. This is the smallest amount of assembly on arrival though it's just two pins. A little more grip wouldn't hurt if you are in slippery areas as the foam inserts only provide so much. In a dry area like mine it's no issue.

Slim, lightweight, compact stool
Being height challenged, stools are a necessity when reaching and putting things away and it definitely makes life easier when there multiple step stools around the house for easy access. This stool caught my eye as it looked slim and compact yet sturdy (supports 400lbs!). It is very lightweight and easy to use. It basically folds up to a flat shape with the lift of the handle or folds down with the separation and pushing down of the handle or top step. It is so slim that I originally kept it horizontally on a shelf in the hallway linen closet. I'm also planning on taking this one when we travel and stay at airbnbs or go tent camping. It's such a hassle to go stay somewhere and have to repeatedly grab a chair to use to get and put things away especially in kitchens. As suggested in the photos, this stool would also make a great spare chair when needed.

Sturdy and convenient
I must say that for a step stool I was fairly impressed by how easy it was to connect the push pins and snap it together. The stool is exactly as advertised. It is a step stool. The frame is sturdy and safe. The directions are very simple to follow and it's definitely a handy item to have around. I use mine to adjust my basketball hoop height and I have no fear of the stool collapsing. When your done with it, you simply lift it in the middle and it folds up quite nicely. The bottom line on this product is that it's practical, sturdy, safe, small enough to store wherever, easy to assemble and disassemble. Definitely a handy item to have and definitely worth trying out. A+ from me.

Collapses thin for easy storage!
It works exactly as expected. Feels sturdy when standing on it.You do put the pins into the joints when you open it to set it up, but it was easy and no tools needed. When you lift it off the floor by the handle it auto collapses. ๐๐ผOne of my home health coworkers kept something like this to take into homes, so she could sit while doing wound care on feet/legs and I must say that is much better than squatting ๐So you could keep it in the car to use as a compact portable seat.

Surprisingly strong and compact
I'll admit I was surprised by this. As I took it out of the box my thought was, "how is this light, compact little thing going to hold a lot of weight?" The design is clever, it folds to a very small footprint, and yet, sure enough, it opens easily and intuitively, and does seem very sturdy when opened.I can't test the "400 pound" claim, but it does seem plausible once this thing was set up.

Great step stool!
Very happy with this product. It collapses down easily and fits into tight spaces. My 250 lb husband stood on it and put some extra weight on it to make sure it was sturdy, and it looks very strong.
