was a direct match with no set up required
i lost the remote to my tv that i have in my garage i couldn't locate it for almost a week, when i found it it wouldn't work anymore despite showing no signs of it being broke. after switching out batteries several times it just wouldn't work. luckily i noticed the remotes are selling seperatley. after the arrival i put the batteries i the remote and it worked perfectly with ever needing the need to set it up. very pleased.

Perfect
Wouldn’t work with my Fire TV Cube so now use it with Fire TV in the bedroom. Now my wife and I each have our own!

Never buying an Amazon Fire TV again!
My husband bought this TV for me on his Prime account. I put the TV up and he threw out the box without realizing the remote was in it. I have spent about 2 hours with fire tech people to not get a remote that works with this TV. That was after we had to prove my husband bought this TV on his account because they will not give you or help you if you didn't actually buy the fire product yourself. There are no identifying markings on the TV to say what type of TV or serial number or anything of that type so he had to be present every time I called to find out what remote would be needed for this TV. If you buy a TV as a gift and or give it to somebody and they need a remote Amazon will not assist you in any way! You have to buy every remote until you get the right one! After being told this was the proper remote for the TV, it still doesn't work. Never ever again will I buy or my husband Buy an Amazon fire product again! They are absolutely ridiculous about this! If I could give it a zero I would. Heed my warning buy a different brand! Buy a smart TV instead. I have a brand new TV I cannot use because they cannot get a remote control to work with it! This is stupidity at its best!

Alternate way to pair Firestick
My Sony tv is 6 years old. I followed the written and YouTube directions. No success. I did not get a black screen nor the Firestick logo on the screen. I then used my tv setting for blue tooth and pair. Now it works great

Better, but not perfect
I was trying to find an upgrade for my 3 Fire TVs. This does the job but could be much better. The backlit keys are a plus as well as the 2 programmable buttons. The 4 pre-assigned buttons at the bottom (Prime, Netflix, Peacock, Direct TV) are great if you actually use these services. It would be much better if these were also programmable by the purchaser. Amazon probably gets a big payout for featuring these particular services. I don’t actually know anyone that uses Direct TV (I’m sure that people do, just nobody I know). I use Comcast/Xfinity & the Amazon Fire TVs or remotes don’t offer any support, or way to easily access Xfinity. The remote is kind of small & slippery. I had to buy a silicone cover so I could hang on to it. I am keeping all 3 remotes that I bought, mostly because I can’t currently find anything any better.

Enhanced enough
Needed a replacement 4k remote for my fire stick. Gets a 5 star for the manner in which I got mine (let's not get into that, I don't have the wherewithal) and the fact it pairs with "dumb TV's" There's nothing "enhanced" about it though. It's the same remote you get from the 3rd party for 1/3rd of the price. The only enhanced aspect for me is that it works with my dumb TV and NONE of the 3rd party remotes do, which is appalling. One shouldn't be forced to buy $30 replacement remotes when they used to be made by 3rd parties for a fraction. I think we're paying for the "enhanced packaging" because the Amazon packaging was much more involved and actually came with booklets when one can easily Google or be guided by a setup. It's value for price is a bit off, it's as easy to use as the factory remote because it IS the factory remote. If you're wondering why I got a 4k fire stick with a dumb TV (no 4k), I got it for the faster processing speeds for Luna gaming compared to the older fire sticks I had. Cloud gaming needs a decent system to run off of and I read the 4k system was better for it. I'm guessing the 3rd party remote makers didn't assume there'd be people like me out there, or not enough of us. I don't know why this review wants me to comment on how it fits, that's pretty funny. I guess it fits my hand just fine? It fits my decor? It fits my tv? Lol

TRUST THE TECH SUPPORT TEAM!
I ordered the Amazon Firestick 4k max, and it arrived the next day. I spent all day trying to get it to work, but couldn't get past the language screen. After finally calling tech support, it turns out that the remote was bad. The tech promptly sent a new remote that programmed quickly. Now I can finally watch TV in my home after nearly four days. Amazon tech support is TOP TIER, and I knew they would find the problem and fix it. I'm so grateful for the rep who got it done!
