Fun for an hour
This is even fun for adults who like to do mechanical simple things and keep their hands clean. Children about 8 or 10 will like this. I gave it to my 5 year old grandchild, but I bet her Mom helped her. She was happy to finish it. You can easily take it apare in 5 minutes and do it again next year, or pass it on to the next person for fun. It is one toy that won't break.

Doesn't work as a "toy"
I purchased a number of these sets as Christmas presents for boys ranging in age from 7 to 12. All enjoy building and are good at it. I thought these were adorable, different, and would be fun for them to play with after they had built them. First of all, these really aren't great for kids under 10 or 11 to build. It requires a bit more manual dexterity to hold the pieces together and screw them together at the same time than my 7 year old had the patience for, so I ended up putting it together. But what really made me give this item a poor review is that the screws simply do not stay tight at all. This plane really hasn't even been played with. If you just pick it up and look at it, screws start coming loose. Every time I pick it up, I have to tighten a screw. There is no way it could be played with without it coming apart. I have considered using some model glue to try to glue the screws in place but haven't tried that yet. I would say that if you are purchasing this for an older child or adult to build and sit on a shelf, it would be fine, but it's really not the thing for kids who want to pick it up and handle it.

Eitech Basic Mini Aircraft Construction Set
I had remembered my erector set from when I was a child in the 40's. I remembered the screws being a little bit larger and easier to handle? I bought this one item set - and the larger set, - planning to see if my 8 yr old grandchild would enjoy the small project before giving him the larger set. There were 2 problems. One had to to do with the instructions: the parts list was on one side of the paper and the instructions were on the other - making it more difficult to follow an instruction saying something like, "connect part A to part B" unless you were good at memorizing the names of the parts. Also, it was missing 2 parts which seemed quite odd for such a small project. He lost interest, but I will give it one more try with a litlle more supervision when I go back to visit next week.

small
Quality item but much smaller than I pictured it. Had I know it was that small I wouldn't have paid that much for it. That being said I can't complain about the quality of the parts (the build quality is up to you) and all the parts were accounted for.

Great father and son activity
I bought this for my son for christmas with the thought in mind that he and his Dad would build it together. The item was smaller than I had thought, but that wasn't a problem. My son loved putting it together. The only thing that I didn't like is that the airplane wings are easy to bend. The toy must of gotten stepped on and the wing bent. I bent it back, but after to many times of of doing that it might just snap off.

Great little mechanical project for my grandson
I wanted to introduce my 6 1/2 year old grandson to the mechanical world with a little hands-on project. He built this little plane (with a little help from me) and is very proud of it. The tiny parts and assembly methods required encourage him to practice dexterity and understand how things go together. And it's a nice grandpa-grandson project. I'll be buying more of these Eitech products as his mechanical skills improve.

Quick and fun
My son hadn't put one of these together before, so he was reluctant to even try. I worked with him on it, and now he loves it!
