Not as Advertised
Ordered 7/16" pad and packing slip listed 7/16" pad when delivered. Waited 2 weeks to see if pad would expand at all after installation but the pad measures 1/4" thick. It is made of quality material, rubber backing is great but the pad is NOT 7/16" thick. Addendum: Thinking maybe I mistakenly received a 1/4" pad, I contacted Amazon Customer service (They were awesome by the way) and ordered another pad. It came and was the same thickness as the original so I stand by my original review. The 7/16" pad is only 1/4" thick.

Best Pad Ever!
I've bought several pads and this one is the best. Super cushy and sound dampening. Yes, Lilke all pads, the rug slides off a bit but nothing a little double sided carpet tape won't fix. Top notch pad highly recommended. This comes from a carpet pad connesuir.

Great way to convert slippery, thin rugs into stable plush ones!
DO THE MATH! Get a larger size and cut it to fit many rugs. I got the 8' x 10' and was able to use it for a 5' x 7' and 2 runners. This made it tons cheaper. Further, I was able to get a used one, so it was even less expensive! Easy to cut, good cushioning, doesn't slip, I'm very happy with this pad.

Not actual size. Top allows the rug to slide off.
Not 48 x 48. Mine was 46 x 47. While the bottom is great at sticking to the floor, the top has a smooth almost finished surface which doesn't stick to the bottom of the rug, so the rug slides off the top, requiring a smaller thing rubber pad between the two surfaces. I was disappointed to pay this much for a pad, only to need to add another non slip surface. Also, the seriously deficient sizing made this that much more frustrating.

This is the rug pad for you.
This is the only rug pad that I buy these days. I've tried many different brands and have sent them all back. This one is very well made and performs as advertised. Plus it's made in the USA. Big bonus.

Makes a huge difference in the "feel" of the area rug...
Being a big "barefoot" guy (I have worn socks exactly three times this year in total), comfort is important to me. Initially, we weren't sure that the 1/4" pad would be sufficient but we didn't want to get involved with cutting two gigantic entrance doors and then figuring out how to make them water/airtight at the bottom. Had a similar issue in the hall bath as who wants a door with a 1.5" gap at the bottom in a bathroom? I also might add that we have antique Saltillo tile - which is irregular and has a "pillow top". The result is that the tile pattern telegraphs through the area rugs. Enter the pads. Makes the irregularity disappear and the comfort level on your bare feet increases dramatically. Nice quality pad. Came nicely boxed and was shipped quickly. Oh... and I might add.... that Satlillo tile cannot tolerate the crumby anti-slip latex mesh pads. The pad sticks to the tile and leaves a residue on the tile that is nearly impossible (if not impossible) to remove. Those with any natural stone may find themselves in a similar place (anything with an applied sealer / polish). Thus far, there is no issue with these pads. They hold the rug still (my wife drags her feet and every area rug was cattywampus in the hallways) so you're not constantly fussing with them. Worth the money.

One week in...the Superior Lock 1/4" Area Rug Pad by Rug Pad USA has performed as advertised
So far...one week in...the Superior Lock 1/4" Area Rug Pad by Rug Pad USA has performed as advertised. I cannot tell whether the materials are new vs. recycled, but they are clean and with only a slight odor (if I get on my hands and knees). There are darker fibers strewn throughout the mostly white felt, but, again, they appear to be clean and safe. The 1/4" inch thick pad is comfy enough, and allows a door to slide over the carpet/pad if close to an entryway. This pad was more expensive than others I researched online, but the quality appears to be worth the difference. In fact, we bought a second pad a week after the first one. The only drawback was the 8' x 10' pad was placed in a much smaller "capsule," so there were some kinks to work out upon receipt.

Nonskid, no strange smell
We bought this to put under a dog bed on a laminate floor. It works very well to keep the bed from slipping, and unlike another pad we tried, it didn't have any rubber smell which the dog had not liked. This is a nice thick felt pad with a nonskid backing. It cost a little more than the other one, but worked much better for us.

Great!
This rug pad had helped stop the kilum rug we have on top from bunching and slipping. Feels great underfoot.
