Fantastic Calor Cube - Sleek/attractive, Doesn't smell and safer for my cat than conventional heater
So happy with this. I have wanted to buy this heater for about five years, but kept putting it off until I decided that I simply did not want a huge energy bill this year. I also did not want a huge calor gas heater in the house, or one with an open flame as I have a cat.I researched this heater for a long time. I emailed and telephoned the seller- Fuel Masters - before buying it as I had concerns after reading some of the general reviews about this heater on other sites. Some people said they could not get the heater to ignite and this worried me. I am not based up North and was worried about the hassle of receiving one of those heaters and having to return it which actually would not have been an issue with this particular seller. The seller was honest and told me that about one in ten of these heaters have an issue with ignition but this is resolved by re-positioning the gas bottle inside the cabinet.I had no such problems. My heater ignited straight away. I have never used a calor gas heater before and had no idea how to install the bottle. I looked at the following Youtube video by Calor "How To: Connect & Turn On the New Calor Heat Cube Portable" and it was a simple video to follow. Before you buy this or any other calor gas heater, phone around your Calor gas stockists to make sure you can buy a full gas bottle without having to exchange one. After a lot of phoning around, I managed to buy one for myself from one stockist in East Anglia (£40 bottle deposit and £29.99 for the gas) and my mother's two full bottles were cheaper from another stockist (£30 for the bottle and £22.99 for the gas). In the Midlands and the North of England, the gas and bottle should be cheaper, and if Calor were not experiencing a shortage of unreturned bottles and reduction in gas supplies, then the usual price is about £30 for the bottle and £18.00 for the gas. Once you have the bottle, all you will have to do is just exchange your empty for another full one and simply pay for the gas next time around. I have attached some photos of the Cube heater. Another positive aside from the safety issue for animals (though the silver part can get hot) is that it does not smell like conventional calor gas heaters.Oh my mother went and bought the same heater herself after she saw mine!Very happy with it and happy I bought it from an honest seller - Fuel Masters!EDIT - A couple of weeks laterPOINT ONEPlease be aware of the following. the first 6kg calor gas bottle I bought lasted ONE week on setting 2 for about four hours a day. Obviously that was pretty bad, but when I exchanged it for another full gas bottle (which I replaced on the 12th December 2021) -THAT GAS BOTTLE is still running the heater and today is the 23rd December 2021! I have it on setting 1.5 to 2 and it is often on for about five hours a day which leads me to believe that the first gas bottle I received was not full! It was not the heater, or the size of the bottle, but the fact it was not filled up completely which is very unfair for the buyer. To add to this calor gas stockists are inflating the cost of the gas itself. The gas would ordinarily cost £18 to £20 but stockists down South are charging upwards of this and even up to £37 to replace an empty bottle with a full one.POINT TWO - When I put the second bottle into the heater, it would not light straight away. I realised, the problem people are having is not with these heaters but with the bottles. After re-aligning the bottle several times and making sure the large button actually clicked after the bottle was positioned correctly, it lit.

Not a good heater
I bought this product to heat a small room and it's not very good at all. You have to put it on the highest setting for it to heat the space at all and the gas runs out really quickly. I'm very disappointed as I like the design aesthetic, but it's not very warm at all.

MODERN AND CONTEMPORARY !!
It seemed so weird ordering this heater in August with 32 degrees outside but they do seem to sell out very quickly. This heater gives a modern contemporary twist to the usual Calor Gas type of heater. Its compact, looks great and is 'discreet' rather than a huge heater in the middle of the room. Delivery was super, super quick and delivered to exactly where I wanted it to go as I knew I wouldn't be home when the driver arrived. I will most definitely be ordering another one before the onset of autumn. Highly recommend both product and seller. Impressed !
