VERTAGEAR GAMING SERIES TRIIGGER LINE 27

I think I'd go another route.
Maybe I got a dud. I mean, I hope I got a dud. This chair, for the price, is super comfy and has some innovative features, but is basically garbage. I'd return it if I didn't have to box this thing up, unboxing it was a mess, so I can only imagine what it's like to jam it all back in there. Forget it.Good: Super comfortable. Metal base is nice. It has some innovative features that are cool, but don't really work so well. Looks really slick. I really like the leather trim. Really nice touch.Bad:1.) Unboxing. The box was in good shape when it got delivered, but inside looked like a bomb went off. They seemed to have a ton of really elaborate packaging but when I opened the box, it was all ripped and torn, bent in places where it shouldn't be and the chair parts were just rolling around in there. It looked like I had opened it and tried to repack it. I double checked to make sure I didn't get a refurb or something. Nope. New. All the parts seemed to be there and it did assemble, but I was just waiting to find something broken. Thankfully I did not.2.) Rollers feel nice, but they do not roll well on carpet. I have very low pile (that's what it's called right?) carpet in my office with almost no padding. It's practically indoor/outdoor stuff. The wheels do NOT roll worth a darn. I roll around in my office quite a bit and the chair always tips because the wheels aren't rolling.3.) The arm up/down is a horrible design. Not the button that makes the chair go up/down, that's fine, the arms themselves are adjustable up/down. They NEVER stay put. I'm constantly adjusting them back up again, and it takes me a few tries to get it where I need it. You can't adjust them down without going through a process. You have to slide them up all the way, then the little mechanism releases, which then allows the arm to go all the way down, then you can slowly bring it back up to the height you want. They have buttons and clips, and cables all over this thing you'd think you could just press a button and adjust the arms up/down.4.) The hand control that allows the chair's back to recline, is cool that it's in the arm of the chair rather that underneath, I like that, but it's SUPER finicky and I feel like I'm going to break it when I use it.5.) Unknown crank/wheel thing under the seat that seems to do nothing. There's this really elaborate wheel with a crank on it which turns really nicely. The whole thing also slides in/out as though it were locking/unlocking something. I have no clue what this thing does. It spins freely forever in either direction. I looked it up in the manual (which is really cool, really nice printing job) and it appears to allow for the entire chair to lean back (seat and all, not just the back) but looking at it. I have no idea if it does that or not because I can't make it do anything other than spin and slide in/out.6.) Quality control. This is super sad because, A.) this chair isn't cheap. It's not painfully expensive but it's got a pretty healthy price tag. B.) The parts of this chair seem to be really good quality. I mean, it feels really solid. The metal base is great, the (non-spinning) wheels are heavy, and feel like the good stuff. The chair weighs a ton indicating a solid level of build quality. However. All the hex screws in the bottom of the chair were loose (there's a weird combo of phillips head and hex head screws serving the same function. It's like they alternated hex/phillips) and all 4 hex screws that hold the back on or together, or whatever they do, were all very loose, and one fell out after about 3 weeks of use. I found it when the vacuum sucked it up. I fished it out of there and found where it went, and THAT'S when I found all the other loose and odd-ball screws. So, I flipped the chair over and tightened every screw I could find. There also seems to be 2 missing screws, but I'm not sure. The seat slides forward and back (which is nice). When the seat is slid all the way forward, 2 screw holes are exposed. Neither of them were installed. Being that it's BOTH sides, and I don't see and screws rolling around my office, this might have been a design choice. I mean if they have a screw-getting-loose problem, those would be a REAL problem if they were loose because they would block to motion of the seat if you wanted to slide it.TLDR: SUPER disappointed in this chair. Feels like good parts poorly assembled, and poorly packaged, with a premium price. I'm not sure I'd roll the dice on this one. Plenty of other options out there.

Disclaimer, I have not contacted Vertigear about my dislikes about this product, I don't know how much is my own unfamiliarity with regards to mesh chairs. It's a good chair overall, but where the foam front edge meets the central part of mesh, when sitting in an ergonomic positions it puts light pressure on the back of my knees and cuts circulation, even after playing around with the seat advancement / height adjustments. Gotta use a footrest to use comfortably for +20min. Returned the 275 the next day and scouted Craigslist for the higher end 350se, found a seller who had same complaints of leg-pinch and passable comfortability, he had owned for a month before listing. Overall I really do like the aesthetics, despite the good-fair comfort. I feel a lot more energized in this style than in my old Serta executive style chair, so the comfort is likely the price paid to obtain better physical support.

FYI: The undercarriage and star-base are made of aluminum; the rest of the major parts are plastic.
Shipping box is flimsy and was falling apart when delivered. Frankly, I'm suprised the chair was not severely damaged. The chair is generally very solidly made and comfortable. The seat is tipped slightly back, raising the knees when seated. I'm 5'6" and my feet do not rest flat on the floor if the chaire is set to an apprortiate height for my desk.

Test this product before you buy.
Worst office chair I have ever purchased. I could not sit in this chair for more than an hour before my lower back began to hurt.

Great but not perfect, chair, gas lift is sinking after 1 year, replaced under 2 year warranty
Update: I revised my review after getting a hold of support on the phone and getting my lift replaced.I bought this last year after weighing a bunch of different options. When I received it originally, the base had a manufacturing flaw where a hole for one of the wheels was smaller than the others causing it not to fit. I contacted support and was sent a new base in about a week. The chair is comfortable and has a bunch of different configuration options, but it doesn't feel like it's worth $600. Here are some pros and cons:Pros: - The seat bit and the back are breathable which let's you stay cool and not sweat as much - You can adjust a bunch of different parts of the chair to fit your needs - It's great at helping you keep your posture whether you set the back to be fixed straight up or allow it to move freely - You can configure the resistance of how hard it is to lean back in the chair, which can be quite comfortable to have the back not locked in with the trigger, so that it bends back as you bend back with a little pressure. - The trigger mechanism really feels nice to use. It's not something I expected to care about much, but it's very intuitive and actually feels good to use (versus reaching to odd places around the chair to make the major 2 adjustments you'd normally make... the trigger is right where you hand normally is).Cons: - The seat part (where your butt sits) slides forward and backward, but for my frame (I'm skinny), it doesn't slide far enough back so I end up sitting back of the frame partially, instead of squarely in the middle of the comfortable mesh. - The lower back plastic isn't very comfortable (it's just hard plastic) and you cannot seem to remove it or adjust the intensity of it (only move it up and down vertically). - The gas lift started sinking after a year of use (but was replaced under warranty)
