I bought this to use in a Rick Stein curry. It is a very unusual and unique flavour (the recipe suggested substituting cinnamon, which wouldn't have been the same at all). There are quite a few bits of bark still attached to it so it requires careful preparation but it really elevated the dish to something spectacular. The flavour is very hard to describe but really enhances umami. I have also used it in wild mushroom risotto which works very well too.

Delivery of the item was delayed by Royal Mail due to Covid-19 issues but received as advertised and perfect condition!

Love the smell of this spice when added to curries. The delivery took a lot of time than scheduled.

This is a lovely spice, but not often seen in the UK. If you've not tried it you really should. Don't use too much at once as it can overpower. Look up a recipe for chettinad prawn chukka which uses this spice, it's a gem. 50 g will last me a couple of years.

The good thing, the delivery was very quick. But I wasn’t that happy with the product as it was not clean, full of dust, mixed with other herbs and the worst thing is I found hair in it.
