Better than the S3, S7 and S5
I held off reviewing this because the last one I bought didn’t even make it a year and it was totally annoying and the “intelligence” in it was just a routine it was incapable of actually detecting anything; it wants you to fill it, empty it, clean it regardless of the fact you just emptied it 5 seconds ago. Therefore I wanted a good month of testing.Well this S6 stretch is a lot better. First thing I noticed is it actually picks things up off the floor, the 3,5, and 7 could never pick up the dogs kibble I always had to sweep it up first; this s6 picks up the kibble…yippee! I debated between buying this, the 7 steamer, and a Bissel crosswave steamer. I emediatly ruled out the Tineco steamer since it didn’t allow any solution; it is just water. With dogs I want to have extra cleaning ability and disinfect; I don’t feel comfortable with just water especially since the Tineco didn’t get to an optimal temperature to kill and disinfect. So, it was between the crosswave and the S6 Stretch. I chose the S6 because it could lay flat, the solutions were cheaper (than Bissel) and the charge lasted longer. I’ve owned a crosswave before and the hose used to always come off and it was so short it was a pain to put back on. However, all of my Tineco machines have broken in under 1 year. It is because the detention to have them stand starts to wear and then they eventually fall to the floor and break. They break right at the joint into 3 pieces and water leaks out and they can never stand up again. I thought that maybe because this is designed to lay flat that maybe that joint won’t be a problem. It does look built differently so I am hoping.Next, it actually can get things out of corners and lay flat to go under the tables without the annoying shutoff and telling me to empty the dirty water. It has better suction and can pick up things (including pet hair) on the area rugs and mats. But still cannot do carpet nor deep cleaning on non-solid surfaces thus I need to use the regular vacuum; this isn’t a replacement. As far as cleaning is concerned it is way above and beyond their other models but, I still have to pull out the big vacuum to do deep cleaning, big messes, and vacuum the furniture and curtains. The Tineco has no hand-held attachment to actually clean the house! So you need the weigh this in as a factor that it is an additional appliance and it isn’t replacing anything. It does still have its routine to fill the tank, empty the tank, clean, and empty dirty water but it’s not annoying; it just says it once. You can also mute the audio. When it wants you to empty the dirty water tank it says to reduce odors not because it is full (it still tells you when it’s full too!).The clean water is a bit of a hassle to fill or maybe just awkward. It is a container on the base (instead of the back of the handle) and the item lays flat. It is very thin and if you turn your faucet on you could get sprayed with water as I have many times. It holds very little water and then you have to put the solution in too which I waste at least 1/3 trying to get it into the little hole. Taking the container on and off takes more time than it did on the other machines because seating it seems to be hit and miss; the 3, 5, and 7 there was only one way to insert the water tank so it was seconds. Maybe I just need more experience with it.Dirty water tank is the best upgrade! First there is a rubber seal around the opening so it doesn’t stink so much. However that rubber seal makes it very hard to pull it open so just keep tugging, it will come apart! Next, the water and solids are two separated part and without having to touch it you can empty the solids and then empty the liquid! Still messy but much easier to just dump the solids in the garbage, wipe it with a paper towel and good to go. Putting it back together is way better, as that little plastic piece for the solids no longer exists so no fall off into the toilet or wherever you dump the dirty water/waste! It is much easier to clean out with soap and water for the next use.The cleaning cycle actually is longer but it really cleans and dries the roller. Yep! dries the roller! No more soggy dirty messes or streaks on the floors! Gone are the days of having to use multiple rollers because one of them needs to dry out!Okay so lots of positives. Some some of the negatives or maybe trade offs:1. The charging base has no place to put extra filters, rollers and cleaner2. The machine profile is much higher so where I could go under my bed with the old machines this sits much higher off the floor and cannot.3. Has only auto, max, and suction mode. For me this is fine but if you liked the other setting, they aren’t there4. Smaller clean water tank, but dirty is bigger.5. Cleaning cycle is longer (double in length). While this is loud while running it does dry and do a great job at cleaning the roller6. Doesn’t use the same roller as all the other models. This model the roller and the arm that attaches to the base are separate parts.7. Charging base is 2x higher, but this is because it has a heater and a pan to remove the excess water.8. Supplies are not easy to find, just keep extras on hand.9. On/off and the cycle/mode buttons are in a bad place in the middle of the handle. Easy to accidentally turn it off or go to different mode as there’s not really a place for your hand. The clean button is still on top too so don’t grab the top of the handle either.10. No attachments to clean furniture, curtains, cobwebs, dust, thus you still need other means to clean all your surfaces.11. Not deep cleaning for rugs. Does a good job but not deep12. Still only for low pile rugs and hard floor surfaces, if you have thick carpet this machine doesn’t work.13. It cannot replace your vacuum, hand-held cleaning devices, nor dusting devices; it is an additionSummary of some pros:1. Wall socket plug is NORMAL; no big converter at the end2. Cleans and dries roller3. Battery operation is longer4. Annoying computer can be muted or volume lowered5. Can lay flat and clean under tables and chairs6. Cleans next to walls and in corners7. Better suction, picks up bigger items and more hair8. Sits up higher so it can pick up bigger items (like kibble) and do a better job on area rugs and mats.9. Can use the solution with it; unlike the steamer version that only allows water.10. Better dirty water and solids container11. Better with tile floors and grout12. Floors are not streaky and dry quickly13. Less water used and roller is less saturated.14. Reduces light cleaning times and solid floor cleaning times by 70%.15. Light weight, easy to maneuver can sweep, dust, vacuum, mop, and disinfectant floor surfaces of 3000 sq on one charge in 22 minutes with daily cleaning.

Omg MAGIC
So it might say I returned this, but that’s only because Costco had a sale and I got an extra dust buster included too. But this thing is AMAZING. Top top feature is how fast it dried. I have a dog and a baby (and the husband too in fact) and trying to keep them off wet floors while it dries is a nightmare. This dries in like 5 minutes. It’s so easy to use. Lightweight. Don’t be deceived by the small water tank, little guy packs a punch. It propels itself so there’s very little effort into the push and pull movement. It has three modes that are great. Regular weekly clean mode, heavy mess/sticky max mode and spilled milk suction mode so it doesn’t add more liquid to the liquid and push it all around. Self cleaning mode is a dream. THREE TIPS… after any type use before carrying back to the charging/cleaning station do the suction mode a bit to help prevent the droplets from falling. Two, set a reminder after you start the self cleaning mode to go back and empty the water. You should empty the dirty water after every use otherwise it will smell, but when I put on self cleaning mode it takes about 5 minutes and I’d walk away and start other tasks. It wasn’t the end of the world and can be washed, but it is stinking. Three, ALWAY MAKE SURE YOU PUT THE DIRTY WATER TANK BACK ON. My husband and i have both done it. Clean the tank set it aside to dry and totally forgot to put it back. There should be an indicator sound warning you it’s not in- basically the only design flaw- but just double check! Ha. Spot cleans, whole floor cleans, messy mess cleans I would have paid $1000 for this thing.

I am SO happy I made this purchase!
I am SO happy with this purchase! It makes cleaning the floors so much easier than using a mop. I haven't needed to clean up major messes so I can't speak to that ability, but it does a great job picking up small bits of debris (ie hair, paper, grass) and crumbs. And since I am only using water and/or the included cleaning solution, I'm not using a ton of chemicals on the floor. When it is fully charged, I am able to clean our kitchen, family room, hallway, laundry room, and living room on one charge, and still have enough power to clean the machine. I don't leave it charged all the time - I simply plug it in when I know I am going to wash the floors, let it charge, and it is ready to go when I need it later that morning. I love how it powers itself along as you clean so my arms and shoulders aren't sore when I'm done. It tells you what mode you are in and tells you when you need to add more water (I have needed to do this a couple times). Cleaning the parts is pretty easy when it is done with its auto-clean mode, and I simply let them sit by the sink to dry.
