Dr. Mercola Organic Digestive Bitters Liquid Drops, 2 fl oz, 3 Pack

These digestive bitters are a lifesaver when it comes to digestion especially of fats and meats. They taste a little bitter but my family actually has come to crave the taste. It helps so much with some family members who have liver/gall bladder issues. We just feel better overall and can tell when we forget to take them before our meal. I love most everything I have tried from Dr. Mercola and I trust him to make high quality products. I have several of these around the house to remind different family members to take them even when eating in their bedrooms.

I give it a 5 star because it works, solved my digestion problems, but i got severe anxiety! My nutritionist said it pushed my bile faster than my body could eliminate the toxins. I had to use cellcore biotoxin binder to bind the toxins and that helped clear up my anxiety. I will significantly lower the dosage and keep taking the binder while i take the bitters.

Very strong but helps with digestion and stomach

I really like these digestive bitters! They’re made with organic herbs and are a great way to incorporate more bitter herbs into your diet. I think it’s especially interesting that bitter herbs have been valued throughout history, including in the Bible, where bitter herbs are mentioned as part of traditional meals. I also really like Dr. Mercola’s products and appreciate the quality of the ingredients. These bitters are an easy addition to my daily routine and something I feel good about incorporating as part of a healthy lifestyle. If you’re looking for a simple way to add more herbal ingredients to your diet, these are definitely worth trying! It doesn’t taste too bitter and I feel like they’d be effective for appetite suppression when you’re trying to do an eating window!

I got this and was very surprised to find that it is sweet tasting. Digestive bitters are called bitter for a reason. Putting anything sweet in it is counterproductive. Per Google Mechanism: Glycerin is a solvent used to make alcohol-free bitters. While alcohol is better at extracting a broader range of compounds, glycerin-based bitters can still be effective. Absorption: Glycerin has a higher viscosity, which slows down the rate at which bitter compounds reach the receptors on the tongue and in the gut. Dosage: Studies indicate that glycerin-based bitters may require a 3–5 times higher volume to achieve the same immediate salivary stimulation as alcohol-based versions. So you would theoretically have to take 3 to 5 times as much of this to achieve the same outcome. I think I will shop elsewhere. or try making my own.

took about a third of a dropper before my meal & taste isn't at all as bad as some reviewers have said! tastes like a medicinal tincture. belly has settled after eating; so far so good... update, 2/4/26: have been continuing at 3/4 to one dropper, 10-15 minutes before eating (along with plenty of digestive enzymes) & think this may actually be helpful -- less gurgling & more peace!! and actually really enjoy the sweet/medicine-ey (cough syrup?) taste! look forward to taking in a bit of sweetness before my mid-afternoon, once a day meal as I'm usually quite hungry (often get distracted & end up waiting too long to eat). really like this item & keep getting on subscription. thank you, Dr. Mercola!!
