Good performance iron
Early days, but performance is better than expected. Compared with a Tefal Ultimate this produces more steam. Glides easily, has a good volumetric water capacity, buttons conveniently located where they were meant to be, buttons not in the way whilst use. Good features of extra steam. Its heavier than Tefal irons and doesn't have an auto switch off function. However, these are also good features: a heavier iron works better on creases due to the obvious weight applied, and the auto switch off function is more of a nuisance to be fair ( I hope Tefal is taking this on board....). My advice: buy this with confidence. Good value. Bosch quality as expected.

The iron for you
Not as lightweight as my previous iron, but it's ok for me. It's a brilliant iron. I love the pointed tip, the size of the water tank is non too shabby and the cord length is bigger than I am used to so makes it easier to relocate my ironing board to whereever I want it! It steams, it gets hot and as long as you follow the filling and emptying instuctions and the care of it in the first place, I see no reason why it won't last a decent amount of time.I bought this model as it has separate buttons for steam and water spray, has auto switch off if left standing without use and the anti-calc and self clean is an absolute must as the water in my area is very hard.

Generally a very good product. It heats up within seconds and the steam functionality is available almost immediately. Plenty of temperature options for various fabrics, and it irons very well. Plus the 3m cord is very long, more that I was expecting. Ergonomically great to use, could iron for hours without problems. There are only two real issues:1. The water tank does not last very long (330ml capacity), but it is very simple to top up, so after a few days of use it isn't much of a issue.2. The black translucent tank makes it very difficult to visually determine how much water is left in the tank. So often you don't realize that the water has run out until it stops steamingI previously owned a Philips steam iron, and its very hard to differentiate between the two. However, because of the above two issue I would still recommend considering a Philips branded iron. The only plus for bosch was the 3m power chord, but having it at home I can see a 2m chord would have been sufficient. That said, overall, it is a very good iron!

I happen to like a heavy iron and this one is
Received with slight concern as it was only its retail packaging which was damaged, but the iron itself wasn't. I happen to like a heavy iron and this one is. It puts out enough steam on the minimum setting to smooth out all but the most stubborn of creases and it seems to do everything it's supposed to do. I've not had it for very long so can't comment on its durability, but I've had a high satisfaction record with Bosch products over the last 55 years. Excuse me, but I can't wax lyrical about a steam iron. It is a good solid product and does the job very well.

Huff and puff
You know those novels about a dystopian future in which machines control human beings? Well this iron steps right off the pages of one such. The good thing is it generates a lot of powerful steam which reflects its quality and high wattage. On the other hand it lacks a `motion sensor' or whatever so it does not realise you've stopped moving it about. So while you're adjusting the garment, it keeps puffing and hissing out steam and totally stressing you out, calling out to you for attention...which leaves you with 2 options - either fill up the tank after every 2 garments which is ridiculous or use the little toggle switch to turn the steam off each time you put the iron down. That's tedious, but that's what I do. to be fair I bought it on 50% sale so it was quite cheap but this is not an inherently cheapie product or brand. At 50% I'm tolerating it, at full price I would have been quite annoyed. Definitely a case of thoughtless product design by an excellent brand.

Great iron!
This iron replaces a 9 year old Tefal iron which has seen better days...I have to say, I'm thorougly impressed by this. It is simply the best iron I have ever used! Easy glide, a good weight in hand and an extra long cord. It just flattens my shirts in no time in comparison to my last iron. It does go through water quite quickly but that is obviously due to the high steam output.PROS:High steam outputRelatively lightweightLong power cableSelf clean functionCONS:Requires more water more quickly due to high steam output (is that so much of a problem?)
