From an athletic perspective, this is very good.
37yr old athlete who wanted to turn back the clock a little bit, and raise my performance a little more.Pretty good multicollagen if you dont know which one you need, which I didn't when I started. Great starting point.Heres some of the ailments it helped me with:Significant improvements to a receding gum line problem that was causing insane sensitivity and frustration. Barely any issues now. By the end of the next container, it seems that problem will be just a memory.Substantial improvements to my shoulder and knees. Much less pain. Allows me to totally change my training since it significantly improves my recovery time, which is golden for an old race horse like me.Healed one of my new scars *really* well. Im a little bit of a nut to some people because I understand how the body works and they generally dont, so some of my methods seem strange. But I poured some of the powder onto a cleaned wound and wrapped with a bandage. Tingled *a lot* which was a very good sign as I was absorbing and applying the nutrients to repair the skin naturally. This is extremely similar to what they do to younwhen you get a skin graft. When the scab appeared, I kept the scab moist and disinfected using tea tree oil to keep the scab on as long as possible, which heals wounds faster. Final result is wound healed *much* more completely than without these steps, and the remaining scar is very tiny and barely visible. Maybe, 1/8th the size of the original wound, which sounds like a fantasy, but it isn't. A much smaller wound I got months earlier is much more visible.Helped fade a prior wound, surprisingly.Helped reduce the "floaters" in my eye, which are broken collagen strands. Didn't 'cure' that problem, but it helped, much to my surprise. I had much fewer "bad days" with my eyes. If originally I was at 1 out of 3 days were bad, now its maybe 1 out of 7 or 1 out of 12 on a good run. Very thankful for this.Im already pretty youthful looking for being 37. Most people guess im in my mid 20s. So I cant say whether it helped with hair and nails objectively. Also cant say for the immune system as I rarely got sick, so, hard to see if there was an improvement so I wont comment there. My appetite did reduce (which is a sign that you absorb more nutrients). I had less savage cravings. I still got them but not as intensely, and way less frequently. How I Take it: An athletes perspective.I eventually got in the habit of mixing 2 scoops into a bottle of red or yellow gatorade. This hides the fishy smell (there is very little fishy *taste*, but yes, a smell), which honestly, isn't bad truthfully. But mixing it with gatorade definitely supercharges my sports drinks.I also mix it into my protein shakes. Barely notice any flavor difference, just makes it creamier. But when I mix this, protein powder, and unflavored creatine powder all in one shake, holy crap. The recovery is unreal. I feel like I could get hit by a bus and recover from it in a few days. RAPID healing. Much less time on the sidelines. Transforms your recovery, which means it elevates you as an athlete. The only thing I would change, is having the manufacturer indicate what percentage of each come in the container, like is it 20% of each type? Or 60% of Type 1, and 10% of each other types? Maybe its fairly random from batch to batch. I would love to know. For this reason Im going to buy some Type 2 and mix it with this to get the dosages for my joints that I need, but I will never train without collagen again thanks to this.If you found this review helpful, please hit "Helpful".

Big disappointment
The bottom line up front: I regret my purchase, mostly because I didn't receive the full amount of the product I paid for. Had it not been for that, I might have gone to two stars because my results are no better than standard collagens or gelatin.I've been using collagen peptides for over a year now, and MAV's other powder was the second brand that I tried. The results of that one were great, so I was looking forward to trying this one. Unfortunately, after one month of use, I have to admit that MAV's multi-collagen has been a bust for me.While it has helped maintain the results I was already seeing in terms of hair and nail growth, joint health, and recovery after workouts, this has been no better than MAV's other (cheaper) collagen powder. In fairness, no multi-collagen has done anything for me that I didn't get from standard collagen peptides. Maybe that's a reflection of my diet. I don't know, but I won't be spending more money on multi-collagens when I can get the same or better results from standard collagens or gelatin. The major problem for me and the prime motivator for my rating is that the container was only partially full. The label promises 58 doses, which, at one serving per day, should have lasted me about two months. After one month of use, I might have a two-week supply left. (I didn't have this problem with MAV's other collagen; its label promises 41 doses and that's what I got out of it.) I understand that the number of servings may not be precise, but being off by 25% is inexcusable. The powder is very fine and, like so many collagen peptide powders, tends to fly about unless you scoop carefully. But I'm used to that and found it easy to work around by careful scooping.Though it's advertised as unflavored, it definitely isn't. No collagen powder is truly 'unflavored', though some are much stronger than others. In water alone, this one is rather strong but not unpleasant, and the flavor will subside depending on what it's mixed with. It's really nice added to broth and other savory items. Even though MAV's other powder was flavorless in black coffee, I didn't have the courage to attempt putting this one in my morning joe because the flavor is so much stronger. There's also the odor issue. Mixed in hot water, this powder has a very strong odor. I can't say I enjoy it, but it isn't awful. However, the odor either disappears or greatly diminishes when mixed into broth or stews. Hypothetically, if my results were better (and I got a full jar rather than a half-full one), neither the odor nor the flavor would stop me from buying it, but it's something to consider if you're sensitive to either. In terms of mixing, this one doesn't blend as easily as MAV's other powder, but it's better than many others I've tried. However, I only use collagen peptides in hot or warm liquids. I don't have much trouble getting it to mix, but there are always a few grains left at the bottom of my cup. That's better than many brands I've tried, and I don't mind it much, but I've had some that don't leave that residue behind. On this bottle, there's a label exhorting me to text a number to receive a free jar of the product. I sent a message after receiving the product and got a message asking for my email address. Here's their message:"Thanks for your interest! To Claim Your Complimentary Bottle, please reply to this email with the following (after having tried the product for a minimum of 5 days):"Hey there!! We are excited to get you your free bottle!"Please respond to this email with the following:"Step 1) Share Your Experience With Your MAV Product"It's easy, you can share your experience here."Step 2) Reply to this email. Please include either a link or a screenshot of your experience, your full name & your Order ID."You can find your Order ID clicking HERE"Step 3) We'll send you your FREE BOTTE no strings attached."...After following the simple directions above, you should be all set!!!"Although I'm not wild about this product, I'm going to try it anyway and see what happens. I'll update this posting when I hear back from them.Update #1: Email sent to claim free bottle on February 22, 2019.Update #2: When I wrote my review on February 16, I estimated that I had about a two-week supply left. I was wrong. I used the last dose today, February 23, so it was a one-week supply.Update #3: On the evening of February 24, 2019, I received an email from the company with a promo code to use to claim my free bottle via Amazon. As I write this, the current price is $35.25, but the promo code is only good for $34.90, so I'd have to pay 35 cents to claim my free bottle. That seems overpriced to me, so I'm going to hold out and see if the price drops a bit more. To be fair, the product was going for $31.99 when I bought it and the prices on both of MAV's collagen seem to fluctuate a bit, so I wouldn't be surprised to see this drop again soon. But responding to my email in two days (and over a weekend) is pretty good.Update 4: On February 26, 2019, I noticed a $2.00 off coupon on this product. Though it's still selling for $35.25, that plus the promo code brought the price down to $0, so I placed the order.Update 5: The free product arrived on March 1, 2019, which is a fairly quick turnaround time for the order. This container appears to have the right amount of powder inside, but I won't know for sure until I reach the bottom.Update 6: Finished the product today, April 10, 2019. I only used it once a day since receiving it on March 1, so I'm afraid I once again didn't get the full 58 servings. Though I realize the number of servings per container can vary, this falls far too short of the mark for me to consider purchasing it again. Here's hoping MAV can get more consistency in production to avoid this in the future.

Helped my skin look younger and more 'fresh and dewy'
I just finished my first jar and purchased a second. I bought this to improve my skin, especially on my face. I was hoping to get some improvement in the dry look and fill in some of the wrinkles.I also had Lyme Disease for 20 years, so have a lot of joint and muscle pain. I thought this would be a great bonus if it improved that.I am happy on both fronts. First, I noticed within a day or two of use a more 'dewy' look to the skin on my face. The wrinkles do look more filled in and generally my skin appears more hydrated and younger. As far as my joint pain, I did notice an improvement right away. However, I have cycles of joint pain where it is really severe, then less, then bad again. This has gone on for years. So I can't say for sure that this is the cause of my reduced my joint pain, as I did have some bouts of bad joint pain again while using this. So it could have just been a 'good' period that coincided with my beginning use of this collagen.I also take Omega 3 and those help significantly with joint pain a lot and I stopped taking those for a while. If I were to take both, I would probably have a compound improvement on my overall joint pain.
