Q: How waterproof are they?

Not really waterproof at all, they are a kind of mesh material.

Q: Are these shoes slip ons?

Laces do not mean you have to tie them. They can still be slip on. So disregard those that are saying ‘no’ because they have laces. I have a pair of Skechers with laces that are slip on. Only viable answers should be from people who actually have the shoe.

Q: Can you use orthopedic inserts?

Im sure you can make some fit into the shoes but the shoe itself has no inserts so no taking out the bottom insert to begin with
