It works great
Living in the US I was hesitant to buy this at first because of the warning that says the Region Playback is region 2. But looking at the photo of the back of the case it clearly says Region 1. I took a chance and bought it and it plays fine on my player. I'm not sure why there is a warning that its Region 2 when it's not.

Unfortunately, The End!
The desperate housewives from Westeria Lane are back and boy, are they!New characters enter and old ones are sorely missed. If you have a sentimental (!!!??) attachment to Susan's husband Mike Dephino, you will be saddened to see him murdered in episode 'Women and Death'. Why? Well, only Mark Cherry can answer that question convincingly, or then, maybe not!I somehow feel that this particular series is not at par with the other 7 seasons. Series 8 is all about the disillusionment and the disappointment in the lives of most residents of Wisteria Lane. Why Mark Cherry chose to come up with a disappointing end to a great series, beats me. Even Mark Cherry, who makes a brief guest appearance in the last episode, carrying a packing case to the moving van, appears glum/dejected. Why, if you ask me, would a personnel from a moving company look glum?A not so great finale to the Desperate Housewives and their idiosyncratic behaviour. Yet, I will miss them!I still don't get it why ABC Studios have not released this series on Blu ray. Maybe they have a reason, but what the heck, it ain't good enough!BR

A great finale season of a favorite show...
Why is a guy such a fan of Desperate Housewives? Because it is just fun entertainment. The series has a fantastic cast of not only regular characters, but also recurring and guest stars. The eighth and final season of this series includes a couple of deaths... a birth... more intrigue for the citizens of Wisteria Lane. The storyline line that finished last season continues on in this one. We know what happens... but, the twists and turns of what our girls and their families go through makes for some terrific and very amusing television.Though I will not reveal what happens, or to whom... there is a major death that sends ripples through everyone. It is kind of set up earlier, but, when it happens, it is brutal and shocking.By the time the series ends... different paths are taken... we know our core group will go onto greater things. The final moments are haunting. Those lives that have been lost make their last ghostly appearance. Needless to say, very emotional.Mary Alice (Brenda Strong) is seen last. A grand end to a very great show. It's been a wonderful ride.

I loved EVERY season of Desperate Housewives
I loved EVERY season of Desperate Housewives, and the finale did NOT disappoint. This last season starts out kind of weird and slow, but you need to stick with it, because it does come thru in the end. I kind of miss all of the light hearted comedy that was present in the first 2 seasons, but the acting and the storylines got better and more dramatic as the series went along, which is why it lost some of it's lighthearted air. If you are one of those poor, unfortunate souls who have never seen this show, then you DEFINITELY need to start with season one and watch your way all the way to the 8th and final season.

This show is absolute magic!
I could re-watch this series on repeat! There’s not many season finale’s that I like, but this one is memorable. The cast and story writing is fantastic, there’s smart humor, a fair amount of drama, and plenty of emotions to go around!

I love it and have watched it 4 times now
The Desperate Housewives series was a prize purchase because there are NO commercials and the storyline follows one after the other. I love it and have watched it 4 times now. The thing I find the most interesting is that each time I watch it I see a different story, different characters, different circumstances and that is thrilling. No one looks the same after a few watchings of the series. I don't think I will ever get tired of watching Desperate Housewives. So glad to have these CDs to watch from beginning to end WITHOUT COMMERCIALS.

ALL STOPS PULLED OUT FOR A WORTHY GOODBYE
For eight years the outwardly respectable facade of Wisteria Lane has been exposed as a sham. Behind closed doors lives have been in turmoil - secrets galore, marriages disintegrating, treachery in plenty, even a murder or two (more actually). This final season does not disappoint - from that clandestine nocturnal burial of a villain, all the way to the climatic wedding, death and birth followed by a "what happened next" summary about key characters.Admittedly some storylines are over the top, some a bit silly. For the most part though the season is richly entertaining and at times extremely moving. Can Lynette and Tom truly be heading for divorce? Is Bree in freefall? Is Gabrielle's Carlos becoming dangerously unstable? Will Susan be able to cope with the challenges ahead?Yes, trials and tribulations - all enhanced by a cast on top form doing full justice to scripts crammed with subtleties, surprises and hilarious oneliners.Enjoy here an affectionate farewell. Creator Marc Cherry's commentary on the 23rd episode is full of anecdotes about how the show has evolved, favourite moments, tributes to stars whose timing and delivery have so much to add. Bonuses include a twenty minute "I Guess This Is Goodbye" feature - cast, sometimes emotionally, describing what the show has meant to them. Movingly it ends with a tribute to one of their number, who died soon after filming.Salute here a final treat for the fans.

the ladies never disappoint
I used to look down my nose at DH. I'm not a 'soap' fan and thought this would be some dreadful Dallas-esque tripe, but after my husband came home from working abroad with very limited offerings on TV in English very enthusiastic about it, we decided to go back to the beginning and watch from the start. I'm so glad we did. yes, of course there times in the plot lines when you can't help but think "Really? Really???? we're supposed to believe that??" but to be honest its all part of the fun. No-one's pretending its anything other than light-hearted entertainment. the stories are good, the characters twisted and devious enough to be entertaining and the ladies whom it all revolves around are marvellous. Personally my favourite is Felicity Huffman who plays Lynette Scavo, for me the most interesting and human character of them all

The End of a "Desperate" Era
All 23 episodes of the final season of DH present in this DVD set spread across 6 discs. Each episode filled with the entertainment that made this show a must for fans of drama with a bit of comedy and glitzy glamour thrown in with some realistic as well as unrealistic storylines, such as Gaby deciding to be the breadwinner of the family when a tragic event continued from season 7 as a main focus of this seaon, causes Carlos to leave his high paying job to train to be a counsellor. She goes from shopper to Personal Shopper to Head of VIP Sales in the space of what seems like just weeks. Great acting as always from the 4 leading ladies and some sad losses in this season along with guest appearances from old faces and new (Scott Bakula to name one). Definitely worth a purchase if you were a fan of the show.

Best season ever!
I watched the series in 2004 and 2005, and then I stopped as I got too busy with kids and work - but recently I heard the series ended and I bought the DVDs. Season 8 was really good - the "mystery" was fun and although the writers seem to have forgotten a lot about their own characters (like Gabby's 5 years of struggle when Carlos was blind and she had her 2 daughters), the series came neatly to an end.
