FrSky S8R 8/16 Channel Receiver with 3-axis Stabilization

I have flown Futaba and JR for 35 years and this is just the most awesome radio I have used and the 8SR is super value with the built in flight stabilization features. I have 15 flight ready jets and they all use this receiver.

If you haven't already, Youtube will be a huge help in programming this receiver. The instructions are vague but there. The 3-Axis stabilization setup is cumbersome if you've not done your research. Aside from that, it's a great price for the product and mine was here within the week.

Great receiver and stabilizer. I have 6 now and they all fly great.

Like the stabilization modes. I have also since bought the S6R and would recommend both. Not as easy to set up as other receivers - setting up the stabilization modes and using scripts is not too complex but not simple. Check the youtube video tutorials on how to do it.

This is a great piece of equipment to have, but if you buy this make sure you are an advanced user, or that you are willing to learn how to use it. I really like the flexibility of this receiver.

Fought with this receiver for hours to get it set up right. On board calibration is a pain to make work. had it working and then recalibrated and now its not working correctly again. Customer service at FRSky is absolutely no help. still have not been able to fly my new plane. Maybe I got a bad one. It wont even connect to my PC with the STK tool.

Too complicated and underwhelming. Though I could make a cleaner plane build for a short range plane but found it much more involved than I thought it would be so used a Matek FC. Too much for too little, use an FC. eg. 'Voltage monitoring' ugh as long as it's under 10 volts. Try again Frsky, you can do it. In the mean time needless expensive Spektrum receivers rule the roost for these devices. Come on Frsky make something better and kill Spektrum it needs to die.
