Kinsman Premium ABS Shaped G Banjo Case

With so many choices available online, it was not an easy decision making a selection for a banjo case. I needed something strong, I needed something that would last, i needed something that would amply protect the instrument. Thanks to the reviews on this page I felt I was heading in the right direction with this case.Firstly, before anyone asks (as they do often with guitar cases), this case is black, it is not the grey-blue tint you see in the display picture.Secondly, as another reviewer has pointed out, the case that you receive is not the shape you see on this page, it is a perfect banjo shape.I have placed a 5-string banjo with resonator inside, wrapped the leather cradle strap around it, filled the accessories pocket with all those little things banjo players need and lose so easily, and everything fitted comfortably. Indeed, there is still 3 inches or so from the top of the headstock to the end of the case for those who have more ornate headstocks.All of the catches open and close perfectly, including that all important one on the opposite side that really locks the lid safely in place. There are also shoulder strap hooks on either end and, incredibly, there is even a shoulder strap included in the case should you wish to put on one.The case itself is solid and a lot of attention has gone into the manufacture and design. On the base of the case are the usual "feet" so that you don't scratch the case when laying it down to take out your banjo. And, a great surprise this, on the base of the case are four "feet" moulded into the case so that when you stand the case up it stands on its own, it does not rock and does not need to be leaned against anything. This is something all case designers should be looking at and it means that the rounded bowl of this case is no problem.I have bought a number of cases for guitars this year and from another manufacturer. I have been delighted with each one I purchased (and all through Amazon). This is the first Kinsman case I have bought and when comparing with the guitar cases, this is bar far the stronger and the better made - and for around the same price.If you have a standard sized 5-string banjo with fitted resonator (and I think they are all pretty standard sizes anyway), buy this case with confidence. And those spare inches above the headstock are a great addition since this will certainly hold banjos with more ornate and larger headstocks.A great buy.

I bought this after my previous case, a generic cheap banjo case started to fall to pieces and developed a habit of catches undoing on their own. This seems to have very sturdy catches,fits my banjo well and is very light for its strength.It was also very reasonably priced. I have done 10 gigs with it so far and it is surviving the ride in the back of a van very well

This case is an excellent means of storing and transporting your banjo.It is up to Kinsmans very high quality standards.It has a durable textured finish abs with aluminium valance .It is precisely shaped to fit a g banjo and is not shaped as in the photo but banjo shaped.It has a lightweight design , has a strong handle and a carrying strap.Also a quilted velour lining and an internal storage compartment .The hinged lid is lockable with chrome plated clip-over catches.It was delivered promptly with very good packaging.Once again,a very good,well priced bargain from Amazon.

OK The picture is wrong! I ordered this and received the 'Kinsman Premium G Banjo case' as described. If you're reading this I'm guessing that you have looked elsewhere on the net and know that this will cost you much more. It is a great case that will protect your instrument well and at this price is a real bargain. I was also amazed that I ordered it on a Saturday free delivery and when I arrived home on the following Monday it was there waiting for me! Only 2 left in stock as I type so if you need one I would recommend you go for it. (this is the only time I have ever written a review ............. I am that impressed. Happy plucking!!
