It's a scale, so needless to say the very first thing I did once I got it set up was test its accuracy, and it is accurate! Once I established that, I checked out the features. The description doesn't specifically mention it, but it does have a tare feature, so that's handy. The scale will display in grams, milliliters, ounces, or pounds and ounces. The display is backlit, which makes reading it much easier. This scale can weigh items up to 22 lbs (10 kg), which is more than most of the ones I've seen will weigh. The tray is a little small for weighing anything that heavy, but I knew that when I ordered it because the description is clear and accurate on the size of the tray. But that's why it's nice to have a tare feature, you can put something on the tray to give you a larger surface on which to place your item. I was able to weigh a medium sized, fairly cooperative cat on the tray though, so it can be done and isn't just for kittens and guinea pigs. All in all, this scale is very good, it has the features I like in a digital scale, and it performs well.

I got the scale for my adult cat to weigh her accurately and keep track of her weight as I switched her food. The scale is rated to be able to weigh well over the weight of my cat who normally weighs between 9.5 and 11 pounds. A red flag is the picture on the box of a hamster on the scale. I set up the scale, put it on the linoleum floor and tried putting my cat on the scale. She didn’t really fit on the tray and the scale tipped over! The scale is really fit for a hamster or a kitten.

So-- nope on on a wiggly 14 week old kitten. Great for tiny itty bitty kitties where you desperately pray they gain weight--but once they can show they are fine and ready to run they will tip over the top tray quite easily. Recommend to use a bowl to contain the itty bitty, then zero out the scale with the bowl and any padding--since zero-ing it out is super easy. Very bright and easy to read display. Bring your own AA batteries. Love the tape measure!

Cheep model. But will only do newborn size puppies. A little disapointed.
