OBD2 12+8 Adapter for Chrysler, 12 8 OBD II Security Gateway Bypass Cable

Help get the job done. Use it on a 2022 Ram 3500 to adjust my speedometer for 37 inch tires. Just keep in mind that this cable plugs in behind the speedometer, it's not a difficult job, it's just a pain in the butt loosening the clips. Overall I am very satisfied.

Works great. You unplug 2 connectors from the gateway, plug them into the adapter. Your bidirectional scan tool plugs into the other end of the adapter, and you have complete access to the vehicles modules. You can initiate commands, test drive, whatever. No more subscription with a monthly fee, no more having to keep my scan tool updated, no need for wifi to initiate a secured gateway. Works like a champ.

Finally installed on the jeep. It took me two days to get the plugs off the SGW and 30 seconds to install the cable. I do have the AutoAuth for Chrysler, but I get super annoyed at having to log in every single time I want to scan my jeep. Using this cable bypasses that function all together and makes it much faster and more convenient. Now to get one for my Ram 3500! It is definitely worth the money, blood, sweat and tears to install it. (Why must they make the SGW so hard to get to!)

This was a gift, so I personally haven't used it, but I've seen it in use. Works like it supposed to.

On my 2019 Ram, I just leave it plugged in. There are no lights or warnings with the security gateway unplugged. I don't have satnav either. It let's me use my Snap-on Zeus and all the functions work. Even if you subscribe with Autoauth to authenticate as intended, you need an internet connection and you have to wait while the authentication process completes. So not only do you have to contend with a subscription, the whole process can get derailed by a firewall for example. With this cord, you can skip that and get to work

Bought to reprogram a Jeep Wrangler JL speedometer using the JScan app. As it was a pain to unplug the wires from the SGW module due to its location, I also bought extensions to plug in the module and move the connection in a more accessible area under the dash. Combined with a fairly cheap Bluetooth OBDII reader, it gave me access to additional reprogramming features through the JScan app.

Product arrived as described. Worked for 2018 Jeep GC. Was able to diagnose the engine code and fix it myself, evap emissions leak. This $30 saved me $250 at the dealership.
