Does this work like the hot bin composter?

I believe it does. Made up of sections clipped together and each is double skinned. I’ve never had a hot bin but this one works very well. Instructions are in German.

Does it have a bottom?

No. The idea is that insects make their way in from the soil beneath. It’s a well made bin and heats up more because of the double skin.

We have lost one of the clips can we get spares

Not that I have been able to find as I've done the same!!

How quickly does it make compost please?

That will depend on what you put in it. My mix of everything from shredded prunings through grass cuttings to kitchen waste take something like 6 months from when you've filled it. I have 5 of them and find the door at the bottom is best fixed shut as it is so flimsy. I then just unclip the front (easy) and unload. Apart from the door at the bottom they are great. Hope that is of some help.
