Its obviously not a rode but it does the job for the price. If your a professional, this is disposable. Ive used mine for close up motorcbike passes on a track. Was reasonable, little static (easily removed)but it didn't survive a motocross boot at 40mph. About to purchase 3 more for an outdoor wedding microphone set up. Fingers crossed, I don't regret the idea

It came not working even when batteries were replaced and the company wouldn't help to sort it out :(((

I had been looking for a decent but reasonably priced extension mike for my Panasonic HC-V700 camcorder. There were several listed on Amazon and eBay but most of them were mono and many others were considerably more expensive than this. The mike is compact but seems reasonably well made. Included is the battery which fits into a slide-off cover at the back of the mike. The on-off switch confused me at first as when switching-on there was a momentary flash from the LED. The instructions which are a bit difficult to decipher reassured me that this is normal. If the LED stays on steadily then it means the battery needs replacing. On my camera, I get a sliding-bar display on the screen to show input levels and in both wide and narrow sound focus the levels are reassuringly high. I can't distinguish any loss of quality in between this mike and the inbuilt ones but the advantage is the mike can be masked for wind-noise. The foam muffler which comes with the mike is not that effective in anything but a gentle breeze, but I fashioned myself a furry muffler from a furry fabric off-cut and the difference is very marked. Mufflers can be bought over the web, but they seem over-priced. However, if you're not handy with a needle and thread they would be worth the expense to cut out the wind noise. I've used the mike on several occasions now and I am more than happy with the results. You need to remember to switch it on though otherwise you end up with a silent movie!

To be honest for the money this isn't a bad mic, the switch from 90° to 120° makes no difference however. It is more of a shotgun mic than standard mic but don't be expecting it to zoom right across the room. It's better than built in mic and battery lasts for ages on it.

doesn't fit...ridiculous if you don't know your product type don't write rubbish so people will buy it.
