PencilSnap | Napa Leather Magnetic Protective Carry Case for Apple Pencil, 1st Gen (black)

I generally like Twelve South products and I own quite a few of them, however this is my least favorite. I bought this for my iPad Air as the fabulous four fold leather Smart Cover from Apple had been discontinued. The leather material deals good, however my first disappointment about this product came when I found that it had a sticky back that needs to be "permanently" attached to the back of the ipad. I had expected it to be magnetic. The two viewing angles for the upright position are great, as they are held by magnets hidden in the cover, however the position I need the most, which is the typing angle is poorly done. Instead of a magnetic closure/holder there is a little extra flab in the back that you need to spread with your fingers between the cover and the iPad. It always takes some adjustment, is not very elegant and does not hold up nicely over longer periods or if on the go. I am worried about its longevity and it is the item I dislike the most about the cover. I find this solution neither elegant nor practical. The cover is not too bulky, looks nice when closed and feels pleasant to the touch. The Apple Smart cover also functioned for cleaning the screen, which this one does not. As Twelve South did not make that claim I don't hold it against it, but if I can find a better cover, that is lightweight like this, I would not buy this one again. I also would not recommend it to a friend. The poor typing setting and that the lay flat position can wobble if you fold in the the back rather than fold it around are the two features that did not convince me to like it.

This cover is the best you can find for your iPad Air or iPad Air 2 (yes, it is perfectly compatible with the iPad Air 2, as I am using it everyday on mine).First the quality of the product is really high. The leather is soft. The interior of the cover is really soft too, to protect the screen.The cover puts your iPad to sleep when you close it, and wakes up your iPad when you open it, just like the Apple Smart Cover would do it.But it is much better than the Apple Smart Cover. First it also protect the back of your iPad, but it is still incredibly thin !!! It also as much steadier position than the Apple Cover, especially the two positions to watch movies/read ... With this cover, it is really steady, and you can even put it on your bed, the iPad is not going to fall on its back or front every time you barely move ! The typing position is great too, and you don't have to worry about scratching your iPad, as the border of your iPad is still protected by the cover, even in this position !To sum up : the best cover for your iPad. Another great product from Twelve South !!!

After having a leather folio-style cover in the past, I wasn't sure about having a cover that would not protect every side of the tablet, but this one feels pretty good, has more positioning flexibility, and still does a decent job of protecting the important parts from normal (non-abusive) use.I do wish that the front part of the cover lined up better with the front of the tablet. No matter how much repositioning I tried to do, I could never get the cover to line up perfectly.This cover is less bulky than the leather folio that I was using on my previous iPad, so it's doing the job I wanted it to do. Having the extra viewing positions avialable is also quite nice. This isn't a perfect case, but it's pretty good, and I like it better than the SmartCover.

I wish it's less tight, it's a lot of effort to push the apple pencil in the case. It's also not that easy to take it out. Hopefully the leather loosen up a bit over time.It stick to Apple Smart Keyboard/cover nice and tight like shown in picture.P.S. It would be a better price if you buy through Amazon warehouse.

great looking ipad cover .I needed one for my ipad which take to work. Though there are thousand of cheaper coverbut this is a very good looking cover i am giving it 4 start coz i think its little small to cover the egde.The magnet are strong enough to hold the ipad when you type or write

Absolutely perfect cover for 12.9 iPad Pro. So impressed with it! And, I buy a lot of cases for my devices. This is elegant and professional looking. Top quality leather. I only wish the twelve south pencil case (matching leather attachment for Apple pencil) had slightly stronger magnets. I like when I put on something like this for it to be straight and not get cockeyed every time I move the iPad... just a bit stronger so the pencil case wouldn’t move. But, that’s my only comment. The case itself it ridiculously top notch just like everything I’ve ever bought from Twelve South.

As others have said, this case is downright beautiful. Twelve South makes well designed products and a lot of thought out into the details. My only gripe is the cover fits so nice, it’s hard for me to grip the cover to open it. Maybe I’m missing a trick or it will break in and somehow get easier but I don’t see that happening. The design and looks make up for that though.

Not what I expected. But it fit perfect. I was hoping for something with a bit more protection. This actually sticks to the back of the iPad. It is something for work that I am paying for myself. So not too worried. I love that the case allows me to prop up the screen and it is secure in several positions!

I have quite a few 12South products, including surface pads for my iPhone and for my old iPad Mini 3. Smart looking, excellent quality, and they last years though heavy wear. I cannot rave about them enough. I recently upgraded to an iPad Mini 5th gen. I transferred my old Surface Pad to my new iPad, only to discover that the new iPad is a few millimetres larger - it makes a substantial difference as the screen is exposed, and when I dropped my iPad, the glass shattered. After receiving a replacement iPad, I was pleased to see 12South made a new model for the 5th generation iPad. However, whilst badged as 5th generation, it is the same size as my old Surface Pad cover. An expensive replacement, which will not protect my new iPad as effectively as the last.

I got this for ~£9, so much much cheaper than RRP. I really like the magnets that keep it in place when used as a stand. I don’t like that it can’t be removed from my iPad (it’s glued in place)

Don't let the first viewing fool you, it looks flimsy but once on the ipad it does a good job. Well worth the money.

Great company, top quality but not for this product.I had to return and bought full iPad Pro protector/ Case wish obviously much expensive but you get so much in it. Also there is a lovely place for Apple Pencil.

The leather is great to to the touch and feels expensive. This is a slim fit case that looks very nice when fitted. It is important to know that the case is attached to the ipad using a low tack sticky adhesive. It is a bit tricky lining up the ipad microphone hole (on the back) to the sticky pad. Took me a couple of goes before I got it right.
