Great coins.
I'm impressed by these plastic coins. They are a nice size, 3cm across, although they are quite shallow. We used these in a pinata and they were a great success. A couple of them cracked which is not suprising given the adults also bashed the contents along with 6-11 year olds but the coins didn't fall to pieces. They are reusable.Designs must vary from the stock photo as ours have a skull and swords on one side and a treasure chest on the reverse. They are a nice deep gold colour. A few bits of silver peek through from underneath due to the bulk moulding production but it doesn't detract from the coins.Recommended.

OK, but small and very gold colour.
These are Ok. I thought they were the same as what I'd bought elsewhere before, but they're a lot smaller (about the size of a 10p piece). My fault, I should have read the description properly. The ones I already have are almost twice the size. These are much more gold coloured than the picture, which may not matter to most people, but I bought them for finishing a Halloween Pirate's chest and they don't look very realistic - they look like cheap plastic coins a mile away! More of a 24k gold colour - very yellow/orange appearance. But for kids parties or for them to play with they're fine.

Great quality plastic gold :-D
These are exactly what I had been looking for to use as "Pirate Treasure" :-) The coins are good quality plastic, approximately 1 inch across, with a treasure chest on one side, and a skull & crossbones on the other. After reading some of the previous reviews, I was a little worried that I was going to receive some poor imitation of what is shown in the picture. I am pleased to say that the coins we received (from the Amazon seller 'Ed's Party Pieces') were exactly as advertised. All in all, they look fab in the bottom of our treasure chest! :-)

Novelty pirate gold coins
Great novelty gold pieces. Used in the classroom during pirate themed activities. The gold paint was already chipped on some of the coins and the more they were used the more paint chipped off! However the kids loved using the ‘treasure’ and I think they may last another run of pirate themed activities next year!

Perfect for teaching the value of money
These are great for teaching the little ones the value of money. They can earn them through helping out and spend them on things they really like to do. Only downside is that some of the coins aren't fully painted, so are still black on some edges, not that the little ones mind at all.

The YES review.
Yes - They are cheap but good cheapYes - I expected something much worse but they are quite acceptableYes - They have a slight metallic clank not plastic clatter kind of sound when coming together.Yes - They're made of plastic but the coating seems to have metallic elements.Yes - The shine is a cheap shine but its a stronger gold colour in person.Yes - Buy it, you don't need to look elsewhere. This is what you're looking for.

Who needs friends!
After buying enough bags of these to fill my swimming pool in the back yard, I must admit it looks pretty awesome. I tried the old Scrooge McDuck but to be honest when doing the breast stroke I get terribly chafed. It's gotten to the point that I am so chafed my friends have started avoiding me due to my countless lacerations. I have recently also bought a duck outfit which really adds to the whole image. But I have rated these 5 stars because who needs friends when your dressed as a duck swimming around in plastic gold all day.

Good gold coins
I bought these coins to use as reward tokens with my son and he loves them. They fit nicely into his money box and he loves the fact they are pirates coins. I would agree that the quality of the print on each coin is hit and miss as some carry black marks. Overall though, they do the job for my purpose.

but my 2 yr old found and loved them so had to buy another to keep hidden
brought for a treasure hunt at party, but my 2 yr old found and loved them so had to buy another to keep hidden. Brilliant product and larger than fake money so safer for him to play shopping with. Or I give it to him to represent real money he got for his birthday. Sure a few were slightly off colour or the odd sharp edge, but these broke off really quickly in play and weren't sharp enough to hurt anyone anyway. And for what they are designed for and based on price are Perfect!

lovely coins
these coins were very attractive and were a lovely addition to the pirate pinata I bought. They were very small coins, but thats ok. Came packaged in unmarked clear plastic, not as shown. But overall I am very happy with them, they looked like 'real money' to the small children at the party, but then they could eat them after! :)

144 coins in one bag - Great!
144 coins in one bag. Some people seem to have received multiple small bags but I received all 144 coins in the one bag, exactly as in the picture. The coins have a skull and cross bones on one side and a treasure chest on the other. Perfect, just what I was after. The coins are about the size of a 10p piece, maybe slightly larger.

They loved digging up the treasure
I bought these to bury into a sandpit for the kids that I work with. They loved digging up the treasure. Loads of coins for the money ensuring they all took a turn.

Pirate Treasure Gold Coins - for party bags
The item was fine. Unfortunately when I did a search on Amazon I was searching for gold chocolate coins and these came up amongst other products which were chocolate. My mistake, because they were solid wood or other material covered in gold foil. I was reluctant to put these into children's party bags as I felt they would have mistaken them for chocolate. I think it should carry a notice that says these items are toys and not chocolate and certainly not for consumption.

Plastic covered in a thin gold stuff
Plastic covered in a thin gold stuff. Should be fun for kids. But mind out as they are quite small. I guess the size of a ten pence piece. Given their lightness too these would be easily swallowed by young children.
