Braun Classic Large Analogue Wall Clock with Silent Sweep Movement, Easy to Read, 30cm Diameter in Black, Model BNC017BKBK.

I have always liked these simple Braun clocks for their easy readability and timeless design (no pun intended). The style is modern and clean which works with a variety of decorating styles save for something country or rustic.It was a pleasant surprise when I found this version with a continuously sweeping seconds hand and clear plastic cover. The motor is silent and the yellow tipped seconds hand is very legible at quick glance. Some have mentioned problems with glare on the clear plastic cover but this hasn’t been a problem for me — I suspect it will depend on your room configuration (lights and windows).My only wish is that Braun would make larger versions, and that they would add the atomic capability to this one!

I conclude that function, in it's purest minimalist state is the epitome of form. For years Braun has embraced the extreme of modest design to a level of purity that finds beauty in its understated pragmatism. This design coupled with amazing engineering and extremely high quality creates icons of art and utility. This piece, although not the cheapest by any stretch, is a work or art and design. You don't think cheap for an item that is prominent in your abode. I was hesitant to spend this much on a wall clock but it is a proud work of art and engineering genius that can stand proudly beside Ferrari, Gucci, and Swarovski. The second hand glides smoothly and quietly along a large 12" face protected behind low-reflective glass. There is neither a tick nor a tock from this clock. Even the back exudes painstaking design discipline. This clock is reserved for only the most discriminating taste.

Elegant, precise and quiet. A silently sweeping second hand, perfect timekeeping movement and faultless modern styling make Braun clocks my go-to choice over many years. May seem just a tad pricey, but you really do get what you pay for here, and it's really not expensive by any measure.

I was looking for a wall clock for my man-cave and while this one was a bit more expensive than most, I can honestly say this clock is worth the money. Looks terrific and of course keeps time.

The clock is very attractive, but the first one I received had an hour and minute hand that were misaligned.I received a replacement clock, and for this one the second hand got stuck at a specific spot and stopped ticking. Not sure if this is because of the quality of the product itself or because of the way it was handled and shipped, but either way the same thing can happen to you. I would look elsewhere.

The clocks arrived quickly and in good condition, but the hour hand and minute hand are misaligned by about 180°. That is, when the minute hand reaches 12, the hour hand hits at approximately the half-hour point between numbers. It's otherwise a beautiful clock and I'm very disappointed that both the original order and the replacement were defective.

Kitchen. It surpassed my highest expectations!

OK, this is THE silent clock you need. There are lots of wall clocks here on Amazon that are supposedly silent, smooth-running-second-hand, sweeping, all of that. But just ignore those. Simply skip them. Most of them have motors made by a single manufacturer, and then the clock face is slapped on the front of it. But it's the motor that's important. And those cheap clocks are NOT, I repeat, NOT silent. Just look through reviews, half of them say they can still hear the clock in one form or the other. I bought some of those, and yes, indeed, you can hear grinding of the gears inside, or some other horrible noise. Those clocks don't tick, sure, they just grind horribly all the time.This one is different. It seems Braun understands that a silent clock needs to be - silent. Not a single thing can be heard. Zero. Nada. You can rest your ear on the motor of it and not hear it running. That silent. Of course, clock itself is gorgeous, minimal Dieter Rams(ish) Braun design, with yellow accent second hand smoothly sweeping away.The fact this thing costs double what others do means nothing. Absolutely nothing. The silence is worth it.

I'm impressed with the build quality of the clock; it looks expensive. The superb design, however, fits in well with the minimalist design of our open plan living area. AND it is silent. The only sign of any activity is the smooth movement of the sweep second hand. Very pleased that we bought it.

Excellent looking clock. The sweep second hand is very nice.Unfortunately mine arrived with the hands out of place, took me a while to notice it, but it was exactly 30 minutes wrong.The hour hand was at 12 when minute hand at half past, no way to get the time set correctly.

looks good on the wall second hand is a bit out of sync ie when the minute hand is exactly over the minute mark the second hand is over the 8 but i dont care as it looks so classy

Well worth the money and definitely is silent. Bought it for our new kitchen. Battery supplied, beautiful design and quality.
