In the video the rope is real stiff like a lasso rope, but the rope that was sent was soft. I know it might not seem like a big deal, but it causes the hat to slide and flip around all over the place. I returned mine because I hate when company’s lie about their product.

I have worn a hat since my 30s and to my regret, have never used a hat holder in the car. Now that I am retired replacing a Stetson or Col. Littleton panama simply isn't as affordable as it once was. The Cowboy Hat Holder Rack for Trucks SUV Cars works very well keeping my hat safe. The best spot to use it is on the windshield just above the dash on the passenger's side as shown in product gallery. However the hat does partially block the front passenger's view there, particularly in smaller SUVs (like mine) and trucks. As I rarely ride without a "shotgun" (and I know she wouldn't appreciate her view obstructed🤨), I had to find another spot for it. The design works on vertical surfaces as well (and the nearer to vertical the better it works). The rear cab window of a p/u truck should work great. My SUV has sloped side windows and I found securing the suction cup base lower on the rear passenger window secured my hat best. Higher up, the hat hung away from the window, swung about while driving and eventually fell out the hemp loop.Definitely recommend. While not perfect, I can't think of any better design to keep a hat safe in multiple places in a vehicle and it's very affordably priced based on similar offerings on Amazon.
