Great Idea for a product but, not implemented very well. The doorbell I received from Amazon would not connect to WiFi. I checked voltage on my doorbell wires and it was 18DCV. Went through the troubleshooting steps and changed the WIFI Passphrase to not have any symbols as the steps indicated, still no luck. Doorbell kept rebooting and ringing the bell every 10 mins. Sending it back for a refund as the support line was off for the holidays.**Update** 12/29/17Support of the product contacted me and was awesome. They are sending me a new product as I may have gotten a defective unit. I'm giving two stars for the customer support reaching out to me via, email and phone. I'll update the review upon the installation and receiving of the new unit.**Update** 1/16/2018Support sent me a new unit right away. I just now have had time to work with it. I measured the A/C voltage at the door and it was 17.9vac. the doorbell says it will operate from 16vac - 24vac. I tried to configure the wireless, it would connect and try and activate then it would shutdown. I went to the local hardware store and purchased a new doorbell transformer and installed it. This one was putting out 19.2vac. Configured the doorbell by generating the qr code through the phone app instead of scanning and viola' it was connected. So, apparently the voltage was at the lower end of the door bell.The software and picture on this device is 2x better than the ring. you can zoom in up to 8x, my front door is covered by a front porch around 6ft' long. The ring doorbell camera washed out on sunny days and you couldn't see in the yard. This camera doesn't do that it has a great picture. It records when an event happens and stores it on the device for playback through the app. The only problem I have is sharing the device with my wife. She doesn't get notifications when someone is at the front door but has all the available live view and playback that I have just no notifications. I'm happy with my purchase.******* Update 1/29/2018 ***********Software updated itself and now the notifications are working for both me and the person I share them with. Great Product!

I bought this specifically because I could use it with BlueIris. When I first configured the system, everything worked just fine. After a power issue that caused me to reset the device and my BlueIris server, the doorbell no longer connects to blue iris. And I can not log into the web interface with the old password. I tried resetting my account password, but apparently its a different password needed for the "admin" account. I tried doing a factory reset on the device and this did nothing to allow me to reset that password. I contacted RCA support who told me basically there was no way to reset that password, and the device is not supposed to work with anything but the RCA App. So I am just out of luck. The included Lan Live View app with the RCA app also wont work without the proper user/password combination.**UPDATE**RCA support now tells me that an update to the device removed the ability to connect to it via the web interface as well as the ability to use this device with other nvr system. They basically crippled a product I already purchased and made it useless for my needs.

Finally a smart doorbell that is what they should be. I, like you, have gone through all the reviews of the existing units. They all have their (moderate) flaws. Paying a monthly service is silly, we shouldn't have to do that. A unit that is square/round is generally silly. Customer support that is lacking... I mean come on. These things aren't emerging technology. I could never understand why there wasn't a logical, simple option.I don't know where this one was hiding or if it's newly released but the price point, features and looks convinced me to give it a try. I installed it yesterday with ease where I had the existing doorbell button. I wasn't able to do the regular WiFi setup in the app (and I don't know why) but there was an alternate setup listed in the manual that worked on the first try.The app/interface itself is intuitive and simple enough to poke around through and figure out. Almost immediately I was receiving a notification every time a car drove by. Not what I was hoping for...so I decreased the sensitivity and thus reduced the notifications.The picture itself is quite nice at standard definition. It's even better in HD but I'm not sure I'm going to commit to that until I crunch the numbers for how it'll affect the memory and bandwidth at my house.As I said, installation was easy and came with everything needed. I was even impressed they included the drill bits.So, I recommend this. If it breaks or starts frustrating me I'll update my review.

Very nice doorbell same like Ring pro.I bought Ring pro for $229 and used it for about a week and then I saw this for $129 and I wanted to give it a try.It came in the nice package with greate installation instruction, so I took my Ring pro off and installed this one, OMG its a BINGO the quality is perfect the app is almost the same like a Ring and it does have 16gb Micro SD card that records the video that you can deleted later if you want and no service fee.I love it it's $100 cheaper and same 1080p quality.
