Works and looks reasonable - but not a perfect fitWiring is not a complete replacement - just basic wires - power and speakers - if you wish to wire up a steering wheel control module, you will need to add extra wires. Wires are also very loose in the bracket. Did not end up using as I bought an additional Red Wolf wiring kit to compare and used wires from this unit to get full function.Faceplate looks nice, but would have been nice if they could have centered a but better - I have a gap to the drivers side and very tight on passenger. Might try adjusting to see if I can get a more even fit. Also comes with an additional piece that I cannot see the point of. Looks like its a replacement for the bezel that would come with the radio but you do not use BUT is a just not the right size so IMHO useless.Faceplate also has some tabs on the top that I thin are meant to secure it behind the dash trim - All they do is put pressure they don't fit properly and just push the top of the plastic down! - will need to be trimed off next time I'm working on the carAll in all does the job, and is complete. Also comes with wire connectors and zip ties that I did not use as I soldered and fabric wrapped into a loom.

This item makes changing the radio head in an E46 easy. If the instructions are followed! And the crimps are done right. There are excellent how-to's on YouTube - I recommend the one by BloodSweat&Beers.The new head's installation will give the color codes and what they do. The packing for the adapter explains the color codes on the adapter. Match the colors and functions and crimp the wiring. Crimp the connector tight!!! Tug on the wires. If one pops out, do it again (find red - color matters!). Buyextra butt connectors at any "box" store. With the wires and adapter connecter connected, test the head before stuffing it into the dash!Follow the instructions for the trim pieces, and don't get "creative". Push the OEM cable and adapter into the dash (empty space back and to the left), wiggle the DIN frame into place, slide the head into the DIN frame, and all that's left is screw the facia adapter in place, put the radio trim, then the righthand trim in place. All done.FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS! Do that, and this adapter makes the job about as easy as possible.

it fits perfectly in place the only thing i didnt like was that the black is a bit off but it still looks pretty good

If you are going to replace the Business radio in an E46 BMW this is the kit to use. It fits properly and blends in with the rest of the dash. When selecting a replacement head unit try to find one where the face projects as far as possible from the DIN mount. Note that head unit replacement on the E46 can be complicated by the Harmon Kardon option and other BMW peculiarities.

I made it work for my 2001 318i bmw wagon. It's a little tight installing the aftermarket unit. I would suggest getting the audio cable as short as possible since there's not much room in the cavity. The square plastic piece that connects to the factory unit you mate to gets in the way.

This kit is sturdy and fits well. My issue is that the new head-unit sits about 1/2 an inch sunken in at the bottom. This is due to the E46's sloping dash design. If your new head-unit has buttons on the bottom of the face-plate be warned. Mine has them, but I just use my steering wheel controls.

Was almost too wide to fit in the dash (2000 BMW323i). Was about 3/8 of an inch too small to take the new radio I had purchased. Used a Dremel and made the enclosure bigger.

It melted in my car....I live in Canada and it's the month of May!!!.. I can only imagine what it would have looked like in August🙄 😤

connector pins are pretty loose, connecting to factory harness can take a little finessing.

Does not fit a 2004 BMW 325i.
