beyerdynamicGST 500 Microphone Stand with Removable Boom

Robust - glad I've bought at last
I wanted a mic stand that doesn't topple or vibrate the moment that you touch the actual mic or knock the stand. Very solid and secure. My only criticism is that the thread joining the upper vertical to the boom arm is very short and comes lose easily. I've used these before and haven't had this problem so I may need to try a smaller washer. On a practical note, I nearly missed the crucial threaded handle in the packaging as it was tucked away in a bent over bit of cardboard - the pieces will all be there but need hunting down as the box arrived a bit dented.

Talk and sturdy mic stand. Used for quite a while without any issues.
Fantastic stand that does not move and can handle a bit of weight without any issues. I do a good number of classical music recordings which often require odd microphone placements over players and pianos. This stand can easily take the weight of a stereo pair of AKG 414s with the arm at 90 degrees and not move at all in a 6 hour session. What else should you ask for in a mic stand? It’s got a long reach when fully extended and I also used it successfully to suspend small cameras above players for an aerial view.Great product!

Finally realised you get what you pay for with mike stands.
This cost nearly twice as much as some others but I bet it will last more than twice as long. It's also very easy to adjust.

I have another boom arm stand from BeyerDynamic which is very heavy and sturdy. I wanted to match it so I'd have a pair but couldn't see a serial number so I order this one and hoped it would match. Fortunately the boom arm extends to exactly the same height which is what I wanted. Slightly disappointed in 3 things, the weight is lighter than my other model and the base/tripod doesn't extend so wide so doesn't seem as sturdy when at full height;- also, I think a design fault waiting to happen, there is a plastic wing nut type turnkey which protrudes to tighten boom arm- I am just concerned that with packing up after each gig this will easily get snapped off ( hopefully not though).

Quality mic stand
This is such a quality stand. I’ve been using it for few weeks, and it is really well built, and keeps steady, even with heavy mics. It’s not the cheapest, but definitely recommended.

Good ans solid, but watch for boom slippage!
I wanted the heaviest boom microphone stand I could find - I often find they're a little too prone to falling over - and this is certainly a hefty beast. This enables me to place the stand at the edge of my large pedal board without becoming unbalanced. Great. Only downside is that you do have to apply a fair bit of pressure to the boom nut to ensure the boom arm stays in place

A useful, sturdy stand.
A good solid stand that is obviously a bit more expensive than some, but provides flexibility if you don't always need the boom and just pointing the boom vertically causes someone a problem.Agreed there are stands with more positive ways of tightening the boom pivot, but on the upside you are less likely to strip the thread! So far it works and a more flimsy stand that annoyed me has gone leaving me with a collection of stands that can be relied upon (touching flamed maple).

Good, sturdy mic stand
I wanted something which would be good and sturdy, and this is it. Slightly confused that one of the ratings criteria is "Lightweight", which is NOT how I would describe this stand, but then that was the point! It is considerably heavier than my previous stand, but that is what makes it more stable.
