RM Series Replacement Remote Control for HUMAX HDR-1100S

The original remote supplied with my Humax barely lasted a year before some of the buttons became inoperative, and considering the problems that other buyers have had with this remote control, I decided that it probably wasn't worth purchasing another Humax original. So I bought the RM-Series Replacement Remote from Amazon.This replacement works straight out of the box, and provides all of the functionality of the Humax controller, barring one. Some buyers have commented that the RM-Series doesn't control their TV's. Well, it does have a TV button which appears to be functional (it is acknowledged on screen when the button is pressed), but saddly there aren't any instructions showing how to customise the remote to indvidual brands of TV. Please can thesuppliers comment on this? But in all other respects, this is a fine remote control and it is far more responsive than the Humax original. It is comfortable to use and the layout of keys, in my opinion, is quite logical. Some users have commented on the small size and closeness of the keys, but I didn't have any problems in use - and I have fairly stubby fingers (I have difficulty writing texts on my mobile phone). Overall, this is an excellent product, especially at the price. Of course, time will tell whether this remote is more durable than the Humax original.

This remote is compatible with our Humax satellite box but I was disappointed that the remote could not control our LG TV as did the original Humax Remote. I bought this to replace the original Humax remote as the back button had stopped working. But saying this we manage with 2 remotes now instead of the one for TV and Humax Satellite box. I do find it a bit fiddly with the buttons at the bottom of the remote but there again I'm a older person so not the remote's fault! But it does as it says on the original advert and works fine to control the Humax box. I did contact customers services re not controlling my TV and was told this remote was only programmed to work with the Humax Satellite box. But all in all it's an ok remote. I have given it 4 stars due the fact it cannot control my LG TV's basic functions as did the original Humax remote.

Worked straight away. Buttons very positive although different positions than the branded oneThis is not a problem as the names are very clear. I do not use the TV function so cannot comment. I am very impressed with the unit and heartily recommend it. So cheap too !!

Update after 6 months...The device just gave up and nothing works... not amused.NOW JUST A USELESS PIECE OF PLASTICEverything in a convenient easy to remember location, Works well with Humax 1100s, only thing missing is search button, but that can be found by clicking menu and then selecting find.This is much better than the original Humax remote as none of the buttons have that awful annoying click.

Comparing the prices between this and the original Humax remote, I opted for the cheaper option. The device works but not nearly as effective as the original. The buttons are much smaller, arranged differently and have to be pushed very firmly. The remote also requires to be pointed directly at the front of apparatus or it won’t do anything.

I bought this for my dad as his original Humax remote control had stopped working. It worked straight out of the box, no set-up required at all. It took my dad a couple of days to get used to the buttons being in different places from his old one, but he tells me that this Remote Control works perfectly. He is very happy with it.

It arrived within a couple of days. Put the batteries in and it worked immediately. I bought it to go with my Freesat HDR 1100s recorder. Does everything my old remote did. No instructions but it's well labelled so easy to work out. It's an excellent remote for the price.

I’m giving this 2 stars because it does appear to work well with my Humax 1100s box. HOWEVER it does not provide full functionality as described and so is misleading. You cannot seem to program the TV button at all, regardless of which TV you have. Which means the simple function of changing to TV Mode in order to power off the TV is no longer possible, and I now need to have 2 remotes at hand which although not the end of the world, is a nuisance and cumbersome. Unfortunately I trusted the description and didn’t look at the comments/reviews carefully enough. The point is that the description is misleading, and had I known it didn’t have this simple functionality, I wouldn’t have bought it. Why the remote has a TV button in the first place which you can’t use, I have yet to discover.
