Strong, good length,
This is a heavy duty tree saver strap for use with a which and other vehicle recovery equipment. I do a little off-roading and want to be prepared if I need help or if I need to help others that get into a situation.I have a home in a forest area in the mountains and vehicles can get hung up.The weave on this strap is made up of very fine fibers making it feel very smooth, almost silky. It also feels like there is a this lubricant or something on it, perhaps left over from manufacture. I think the fine fibers will snag easily on rough things like tree bark, dirt/earth, stone, and other things you expect to find when off-roading. I expect the thickness and width will give it a long life though. This is competitively priced and reinforced well at the eyelet ends. There is a nice velcro type fastening strap to keep it folded up when not in use.I don’t expect to use this much, maybe never. It’s like emergency gear. Most likely you will never use it, but if you need it, it is priceless.

Ridiculously strong!
We have cut down our holly bushes 3 years in a row, and tried to pull the stumps out..Holly grows down to the center of the earth, so pulling them out is next to impossible.I bought a 10,000 lb tow strap, to try to pull them out... well? The way I strapped it to my Hitch chewed it up, and it snapped, sending my truck careening into the woods.I rented a Bobcat, with a stump puller attachment... Waste of $350. they didn't budge!SO, I took the advice of the lawn and garden guy on My local AM radio station, and drilled the stumps out, and filled them with potassium nitrate stump killer. Surely they'd just die and pull right out next fall..... Not Exactly!Fast Forward a year, and My wife gets on Me to try to get the Holly away from the foundation once again....I wasn't feeling like being defeated by bushes again, so I made every excuse in the book to not do it....She called a tree company, but they wanted like $4000 to dig them out.... Not happening! So I was on the hook once again! Then she said the magic words... "I'll go buy you that ginormous winch you'll never use again if you'll try this thing I saw on Tik Tok." So I said "oh ok!..... "But I'm going to also need a new sling!" She balked, but then said "just get them out!"So.... Using My new $600 winch, My New Samout Strap, A few snatch blocks I bought, a pick axe and a gas auger, I was able to dig these things out, and it only took 5 1/2 days! The strap was crucial to the process, because I welded these big 3" 3/8 wall steel tubes into a "Tee Pee" and wrapped the Samout around and through the root ball. so that the winch rope pulled straight up on the holly stumps. (all 9 of them!)Using the remote, I'd winch on it, then chop a bit until it "popped" then do it again and again..I must have accidentally hit the strap 5 or 6 times....... That strap took a beating, and kept on coming! It's true! I may never need it again (or the winch), but for 5 1/2 days I beat the tar out of that strap, and aside from being dirty, it's still good as new! This thing is super thick! It's not as long as a tow strap at only 8 feet long, but it's like 10 times stronger, so it didn't even flinch under the compound force of 3 snatch blocks in a block and tackle configuration!Complete overkill! Just the way I like it!If you're looking for a solid Strap for winching your way out of the mud, lifting logs, or just looking like you're cool enough to actually need such a behemoth of a strap, This is the best $20 you'll ever spend. So, I chose this Samout strap based on the 35000 lb. rating.

FACTASTIC SOFT SHACKLE!!!
I am always trying to use whatever I have laying around but mostly a 20 foot recovery strap as a soft shackle, sling or anchor point and Every. Single. Time. I find myself wishing I didn't have to rig something and wrangle 20 feet of strapping to get it to work and to get the job done. I knew immediately when I saw this that I had to order it! I am SO HAPPY that I did! This "tree saver" will do exactly that but more so, for me, I can flex it into other roles making it a highly effective piece of gear to keep on the truck for me. This is 8 foot long and has some super heavy duty and reinforced ends on it to handle being hooked and unhooked for a long time without failure. The 3 inch strap is break rated at 35,000lbs which is more than enough for recovery and the not so everyday things I do with my 2500HD pickup truck. I can even use this to pull stumps and saplings with other gear and rigging that I have, again, instead of running a 20 footer and wrapping up the excess somehow. Also, being able to use this as a soft shackle to wrap a differential or axle and drag out distressed vehicles is going to be awesome. This strap gives me So Many More Options with rigging than I have without it!ANYONE with a winch, hooks, trees, hard shackles, rigging, recovery equipment or knows what any of that even means should have at least one of these on their truck at all times. Knowing what I know now, I will never ride without one ever again. It is just way too useful and AFFORDABLE to not have it! The price at the time of this review with 20% coupon applied is $18.37!!! That is "must have'' pricing if I have ever seen it! Probably going to order another one just because I can't pass up that price for the 35,000lb load and the thicker strap...not the 3 inch width...thicker......and also because "2 is 1 and 1 is none."I would 1,000% recommend this item and I would order it again in a heartbeat! This is an A++++ piece of solid rigging gear and it packs up super small with its included velcro cinch strap. Takes up almost no space in the truck but gives worlds of possible use case scenarios! Absolutely worth it!
