Great investment if you want an underwater holiday/leisure camera
Bought this camera as I wanted to be able to take photo's under the water on holiday, and without the worry of getting sand or water into my smartphone. Of the photo's you take, it is down to the skill of the photographer being able to find the subject in the right clarity of the water with the right type of light coming through. If you can afford it and want to bring back photo's of under the water or out and about rugged adventures you have, I highly recommend this. I also bought the LG-1 light guide for very close Macro at home on dry land, for this it is very good also. Sure many phones can take fantastic is photos, but for the versatility of being able to enter in many environments and not worry about "need to keep it dry and protected".. with this, just go anywhere and shoot! Camera takes video though I didn't use it for much of this, when snorkelling in a tidal current trying to keep the camera still and follow the wildlife is a challenge. There are many settings, but it is also as easy as point and click. Camera can also shoot in RAW. The OM software that you can download to your smart phone means that when on holiday you can take the camera on adventures (without worry), and then download the pictures to your smartphone when back at your base camp (hotel!) -then you can share them with Friends and family from your phone as normal! Things I bought as part of this investment were the camera, the LG-1 LED light guide, the floating wrist band, the hard case and a memory card. I have photo's and video's now that I would not otherwise have (including video's of turtles, dolphins and underwater aquariums + family members swimming underwater)

Great holiday camera
Purchased this camera after having a previous Olympus waterproof camera a few years before. Used on holiday, good underwater photos and video, easy to use and no major problems. Zoom noise is fairly loud when used underwater and is picked up on recordings but other than that, all good

Great small camera with good performance and from a reliable manufacturer
As I retired photographer I know how important it is to carry a camera around all the time ‘just in case’ that photo opportunity of a lifetime comes along. I also know I don’t want to be lugging heavy lumps of kit around. This camera is pretty much all I need. It’s rugged enough for me to throw in pockets, suitcases and backpacks. At 12mp the picture quality is good enough for most things. Battery life is good and it charges pretty quickly. There are enough functions on the camera to enable me to enjoy taking pictures without getting sidetracked. It’s certainly waterproof and is surviving the winter weather with no tantrums. Value for money is goo, especially when you compare it to the competition from other top manufacturers. I would recommend it if anyone asked.

The OM System TG-7 worth getting your grubby mitts on.
I've had this in my grubby paws for less than 24 hours and I think I am falling in love. Setting up the wireless connection with my phone was frustrating because it seemed to take time settling down to work, but it's now behaving and working seamlessly. This is my first encounter with a modern digital compact camera, from a digital DSLR, so I'm on a learning curve, but I am delighted with my progress thus far and the image quality, and I'm not even playing yet. I bought the TG-7 to use in my kayak and am very sure it's going to be just what I wanted, but am awaiting delivery of a camera float, though I reckon teaching it to swim is out. I have a new toy and I am very happy with it. I've included a couple of landscape shots I took to see how the optical zoom works, it works very well. At 74 I've been looking to move on from my DSLR for something more playful, I am pretty certain I've found it and it fits in my pocket as a go everywhere camera. Well done OM System and thanks.

Very good and very useful
i am very pleased with the new OM Tough TG-7. Although i have only had it a short time i have taken a number of pictures but have not yet subjected it to any degree to what it i expect to be using it for on my travels next year. It certainly has several impressive features once one delves beneath the normal controls and is remarkably easy to use although i have yet to try it with heavy gloves on etc. I recommend downloading the extensive manual - i have found that well laid out and very useful. In short i am very pleased with the results i have had so far and fully recommend it as a good buy - especially at the 'black friday' price i paid!

Good camera
Great photographs. Good size and neat. Easy to use. Seems robust though haven’t tested its waterproof feature yet.

Disappointing, unusable for macro video
This camera is good in theory but not in practice. For macro photography, you actually can't see if your photo is fully in focus until you view it on your laptop on a larger screen. Often the photos I thought would be great are slightly out of focus. Also, for macro video which is what I wanted to use it for, you can't control the focus once you've hit record, so your subject could move in and out of focus and you can't control that. ALSO, the main thing was that you're meant to be able to control the camera remotely. This was essential to me because I wanted to set it up over a pond and then step back to let the wildlife happen. BUT you can't control the video function remotely (you can control taking stills remotely). Another thing, when you set up the camera to record video, I choose the focal distance and wait for it to get in focus, but once I hit record it often slips out of focus, I believe because it's very sensitive to the subtle changes caused when i touch the buttons. But of course, i have to use the buttons! for video, remote video, remote underwater photography, it's basically unusable. The photo quality in general is not great because it's not intended for taking good photos at a distance. I wouldn't recommend this camera.

Tough and high quality
This was a present for my daughter to take on her world tour 1 yr career break. She will be in mountains, beaches, snorkelling etc and the TG7 is pretty much the top choice. By the time I’ve got her a few add ons such as the tele converter, filters, lights and batteries, it’s not cheap. From a few test shots to date it is sharp and easy to use. An ideal holiday camera, that is also used by a few professionals for field macro etc.
