I bought this because my older automatic blood pressure monitor gave quite variable results. That is, I could get 123/75 one time, and 138/92 the next day. I discussed this with a tech support person at Omron who agreed that the automatic detection system can produce variable results. He thought a newer automatic model would be better, and doing it manually would give the best results.So, concerning this product:It seems well-made, and I'd expect it to last for a long time.It's tricky to put the cuff on by yourself, since you have to hold down one part while you fold the other part over. I've gotten better at this, but you have to be a bit of a contortionist to fold the one part over the other with you left hand.Note that there is no manual or instruction sheet at all with this. I'm guessing they do this avoid medical liability. So you have to figure out how to put it together by yourself. It's pretty self-explanatory, but you'll have to look at the picture on the box to know which tube connects to the meter and which to the pressure bulb. The 800 number on the registration card does not work properly, but the number on their web site (mabis.net) works OK.The stethoscope seems quite insensitive. I'm only able to hear the pulse with one of the two heads.So far, this meter seems more consistent than the automatic one, but it will be a while before measuring my own BP with this is routine.UPDATE: I said "The stethoscope seems quite insensitive. I'm only able to hear the pulse with one of the two heads." I later happened to discover that you need to rotate something in the head to choose which side to use. This is a perfect example of how some INSTRUCTIONS might have been useful!I no longer use this. Instead I use the Omron wrist blood pressure monitor -- much more convenient, and accurate enough.

This was purchased as a doctor set for my daughter to play with, but the quality is not quite what I expected. It is hard to hear out of the stethoscope and the blood pressure balloon is easily pulled out of the protective sleeve. It has been fine her her to play with, but if you need this for actual health monitoring, I would not recommend.

The BP cuff is great and the sphygmomanometer is very accurate. However, you should really invest in a good stethoscope if you plan on a career in the medical field. I bought a Littman (worth every penny!) for nursing school, but I still use the rest of the stuff.

To begin with this kit comes with a Littman stethoscope that alone can cost you $60+ . this kit has the sphygmomanometer to take the blood pressure with and the Littman stethoscope. For the price this is a huge bargain, great for nursing students, EMT, and for nurses. Now if your looking for a cardiac stethoscope then obviously this is not for you.

We live on a farm, not close to the doctors. It is a must to have these medical tools around. I am able to listen to the chest of my husband and vise versa. I did have to learn how to read the sphygmomanometer. Not hard to do. The stethoscope is easy to clean after use.

I ordered this combination kit for my son who is taking EMT Class after Fire College. These items are a requirment for the class so I am glad I was able to purchase a set. My son says they work fine and he has no issues with them. Great price and fast shipping.

do yourself a favor and find one with soft earpieces because these hurt your ears. Also very hard to hear
