Fantastic! Read it. Read it now!
Ally is in a difficult position. She’s being accused of something she didn’t do and no-one in her pack believes her. Derren has been there, done that and served time for it; if anyone has a chance of understanding what she’s going through it’s him. So it’s good that a mutual friend sends him to intervene. The only problem now is that Ally is a Seer, and the Mercury Pack aren’t all that keen on Seers. Will Ally be able to change their minds, or is she going from one bad situation, to another? This is the first book of Suzanne’s that I ever read and while I loved it and continue to love it, I do wish I’d read the first four books of the Phoenix Pack series first. You don’t have to have read the other series for this book to make sense, but you do have a better understanding of the supporting characters and how the pack came to be if you do read the books in order.Ally and Derren will always have a special place in my heart, seeing as how this was the first of Suzanne’s books I ever read and they are the couple that sparked my love affair with her books. It’s fair to say that I might be more than a little biased in my reviews as I’ve read everything Suzanne has written to date and love it all. That said, I should probably explain a little of what it is that keeps me coming back to her for more. Honestly, it’s everything; the plots, the characters, the attention to detail, the worlds she creates, etc. It’s easy to lose yourself in a Suzanne Wright novel. So much so, that you’ll probably find yourself re-visiting over and over.So what makes this book so special? For me, it’s the way in which Derren reacts to Ally. I don’t want to give too much away, but Ally definitely brings out the best in him. While all good stories contain character growth, this one also shows a healthy amount of respect for one’s partner and just how important respect, honesty and trust are if one is to have a happy, healthy and loving relationship. I love the fact that Derren is both dominant and respectful of his female. He truly cherishes her. Ally and Derren would definitely make it into my top ten fictional characters of all time and their story is one that I enjoy reading time and again. Also… Ally is one kick ass heroine. Give it a read and see what I mean. Smart, feisty and with a very diverse skillset, Ally is not a female you’ll want to mess with.Suggested Audience: Adult readers of Paranormal RomanceProfanity: FrequentSexual content: Frequent and explicitViolence: Frequent and severeCautionary element(s): Kidnapping and torture.

These books just get better and better
I rarely give 5 stars but this was soo worth the wait. The only problem is that the rest in the series will take far too long for Suzanne to write... On the plus side, reading it has reminded me what I loved about the Phoenix Pack series so I'll just have to read them again...The romance in this book involves Derren, the beta of the Mercury Pack, and Ally, the seer of the Collingwood Pack. Ally has become an outcast in her pack because Zeke, who she almost imprinted with, found his mate who is neurotically jealous of Ally. Because she's Zeke's mate, Rachelle becomes the pack's beta female and she launches a campaign against Ally to try and force her out. The problem with that plan is that Ally has a foster brother Cain who is practically insane and will want revenge on the Collingwood Pack if he learns the full story. Derren knows Cain from Juvie and owes him so Cain calls in the favour and asks Derren to give sanctuary to Ally in his pack until Cain is released from prison.Derren has an intense dislike for seers, as do most of his pack, but he eventually collects Ally after his Alpha female Shayla, fought Ally's corner. The pack are distant around her at first but when she saves Shayla's life, the pack gradually warm to her. There is an instant attraction between Derren and Ally but because Derren believes that Ally is Cain's mate who he hasn't yet claimed, he fights it and almost drives himself insane in the process. We meet all the characters from the Phoenix Pack series again taking us on a trip down memory lane as we're reacquainted with them. If this is the first book you've found from this author, I'd fully recommend reading the Phoenix Pack series first. There is enough of a recap in this book for a reader to understand what is going on without it being boring for those that have read the other series but reading the other series gives the reader a better understanding of the dynamics between the two packs and why they are so close. The suspense comes into play when they discover that a 'hit' has been put out on both packs and there's a race against time to discover the identity of the person who ordered it as well as deal with attacks on Ally's life.I absolutely loved this book and insist that Suzanne works on nothing else except the next one in the series....

Really exciting must read.
Adored this book..we meet Ali, she is so bad ass and wonderful at the same time , Darren is great opposite her . As usual from this author ..you laugh, cry, and can’t wait to turn the pages for some of their adventures..usually a bloody battle. But the tight knit packs are so wonderful to read, we always have some of the characters from previous books interacting, which I fine really pulls all the books together. They keep you in touch with past favourites. You also add the new characters to that list. A must read. This is one of my must go to Authors. I read all her books at least 3 times each, and, still love them . Great book.

What a great kick off to the series. As usual from this author ..you laugh, cry, and can’t wait to turn the page. The plot, the characters, the attention to detail, the world that Suzanne create, all are page turning, so much so, that you’ll probably find yourself re-visiting over and over. You don’t have to have read the other series for this book to make sense, but you do have a better understanding of the supporting characters and how the pack came to be if you do read the books in order.
