No Snow Yet But it is Installed
This was far easier to install than I thought it was going to be. I put up two 160' units in just a couple hours and that included coffee break. I am not looking forward to winter but will be interested in seeing how well this keeps the ice dams in check.

Roof clips too weak
The roof clips are not made strong enough. The prongs are too short and do not stay in place on the shingles.

Not safe
I bought this in 2020. Worked well for the first and second winter. Tried to unplug it this past spring and nearly got electrocuted. Sparks flew everywhere. Luckily no fire. Not worth the danger.

Works Great
Works Great, kind of a pain to figure how much you need and install, shorted hardware in all bags had to buy more to complete the job.

It's working!
The media could not be loaded. I bought these because in February 2021 I was having terrible ice dams that caused a flood of water coming in through the walls, the windows, and the sliding door. The professionals that came in to basically burn the ice dams off with chemicals said they were close to a foot tall in some spots, and their only recommendations were to "insulate like crazy" and to add heating cables. I installed these in the fall and even though it wasn't super easy for me (5' 2" female, not very strong and afraid of heights) it got one in an afternoon. The hardest part was getting it through the downspout, it wasn't super pliable so I ended up calling in the BF to help me take the downspout apart.Fast forward to January 2022 and we're having pretty much the exact same weather conditions as in February of last year, but this time the roof looks SO different! We had a snow warning overnight so I turned them on at around 9pm, then gently raked off the lose ice and snow from the bottom foot or so this morning before taking the attached video. I put a screenshot of it side-by-side to the situation of last year - and that wasn't even the worst part of the roof. The difference is 100% due to the heating cables alone because ripping out the ceiling and walls to reinsulate will most definitely uncover rotted walls that'll need replacing and I just haven't had the heart to do that yet... But while I save up to do that, at least I'll rest assured that there won't be even more damage being done this winter!

Easy installation
I had looked on Google to find out the best way to install the cable. The instructions were clear as to what tools I’d need and there were plenty of pieces of hardware to complete the job

Amazing heat cable
I use this for thawing a down spout that runs underground for a small section before dumping into a ditch.Within 20 mins of plugging the cable in the downspout is flowing. This is a worth every penny item!

Great heat Works Great
Great product works great CAUTION Do not coil Wire line as it creates lots of heat if you have extra wire just spread out so heat escapes
