FANTASTIC
I've been having such a great time with this game!! I loved teaching it to my kids and remembering it from my childhood. Unfortunately a small piece of plastic broke off of the side apparently in transit, it obviously doesn't impede play but Things are better unbroken.

Nice knock off of Othello
Needless to say this is a knock off of Othello, the classic reversing game. Each player gets a set of black and white tokens and by surrounding your opponent's pieces you get to flip them over and claim them. It's a fun, quick, game and this is a decent set for it.The set is small but not too small, and the pieces are magnetic for use when travelling. The instructions on the back of the box are gibberish, obviously written by someone who does not speak English and never edited or checked. So if you already know the rules you're fine, otherwise you'll have to look them up somewhere else.My kids liked it, it's a good gift.

Classic fun!
This has always been one of my favorite games. It's easy enough to learn, but it takes some time to develop a personal strategy for winning. The magnetic board and pieces make for a great travelling game that can be played while traveling (not the driver, of course), at the beach, or anywhere. The board folds and snaps shut, and there are storage containers for the pieces so they don't flail about inside the closed board. There is enough room in the closed board to store some paper and a pencil for score keeping if you want to do that.

Impress with the Magnets!
I can say that the inner clips hold well, since I struggle to open it up. The clips are plastic and know the clips will break, just when it will happen. The pieces are stored in plastic tubes, that have 2 plastic latches. There are notches where the tubes rest when storing. When the pieces are on the board, a bump does not even move the pieces! I even inverted the board to see if the pieces would stay on, and the didn't move. Not going to lie, I thought that the magnets were going to be that strong. IMPRESSIVE!The down side is that you have to keep the box for the directions! It would have been nice if the directions were printed on paper and could be folded and place in where the pieces are stored when put away.Worth the purchase if you looking for a good old fun game!

Adequate, but a little small and cheap.
Reversi is sometimes known as Othello. Turns out they are slightly different games that use the same board and pieces. In true Reversi the board starts out empty. In Othello the game begins with two pieces of each color in the center of the board. But this is called "Reversi" as the name "Othello" is trademarked. (Who knew? Wikipedia for the win.)This set is adequate, but not exciting or impressive. The board is made of cheap plastic and is a little small (see first photo). The board folds closed and storage of the pieces is inside. And the playing pieces come in 4 little plastic storage pods that fit into specific grooves on the inside of the board (see second and third photos). This is an odd design choice as the pieces could have just been stored in grooves without the pods. Weird. The pieces are magnetic and they do stick well to the metal surface, so that's a plus. The box that this set comes in is also a little bit crappy (see fourth photo). It's really not very attractive. It is marketed as a "travel game," so that mitigates the negatives somewhat. As something that can be played in a car or on an airplane, it does the job. Just don't expect it to look nice sitting on a shelf or on a coffee table.Bob (somewhat) recommends.

Tedious Fun, but Also Costly
I wound up having to watch an unaffiliated video about Reversi in order to understand how this game even worked. Safe to say then that the game directions are bewilderingly cryptic. What the game boils down to is "trapping" the other player's pieces between 2 of your own; flipping the trapped pieces to your color. Once all pieces are played, whichever color has the most pieces wins. While I do actually like both this game and this board to a degree, you should consider the cons before purchasing. This is only built for 2-players; no more and no less. There is a ton of flipping to keep up with here, which is quite tedious. You often only have a few choices to make; leaving strategy feeling like it's lacking. And the list price of $17 is priced higher than the better-selling competition; making this set a headscratcher. I'd understand if you were buying a premium version, but they're honestly near identical. So this is just a case of poor market examination in my opinion. If you're seeing this on sale, and think this game sounds like a blast, then I'd still recommend it to you. It is, after all, a portable and magnetic game for 2; which can often come in handy. It's also nice that it doesn't require too much though; a game type which is nice on occasion. For the most part though, I don't think this is going to appeal to the masses.

Great travel set, terrible instructions
This game of Reversi makes for a great travel set with pieces that magnetize to the board for a great price. The pieces can be conveniently stored away inside the game board and folded close. The game pieces and game board are decent quality being made from plastic. The game pieces are a bit on the smaller side, but makes sense for a travel set. The instructions are printed on back of the packaging and are terrible at explaining how to play the game. I managed to find a short video on YouTube to learn how to play the game. I played Reversi with my girlfriend and we had quite an enjoyable time and a game I definitely want to become more experienced with. I would recommend this Reversi game as a great travel set, but be weary the instructions are terrible!
