Dust covers are a good addition as my experience with my previous Vivosmart is ...
Was shopping around for spare charging cables when I came across these that included dust covers. Price was reasonable and the cables were tested to work with my Vivosport. Dust covers are a good addition as my experience with my previous Vivosmart is that dirt tends to accumulate in the charging port.

Get 'em while they're hot, hot, hot
You never know with 3rd party USB cables. However I was pleasantly surprised with these, well made and support good data transfer speeds. I was able to upload and update maps in the matter of several minutes. Pretty cool. The silicone charge port covers are worth their weight in gold. Fit snugly and should help keep crud out of the port while exercising, fishing or hiking. I'm rather partial to the brightly colored ones, as they're easier to find when dropped. You will drop them, they're small.Overall a good purchase.

Plug: Great (5-Star). Cord: Tight Fit (3-Star)
PORT DUST PLUGS (5 Star for all Categories): I had my doubts about these port dust plugs based on past research into customer comments elsewhere on Amazon. Many stated that the plugs stood out enough to cause noticeable pressure when wearing a Garmin VivoActive 3 Music (VA3M) watch. I did not find this to be so in my case. The photos show how the plug fits. While it does stand out from being flush, it is a minimum stand out... less than the center of the VA3M stands out. I do not know if this would make a difference or not (and I suspect not) but I did switch to a more traditional leather band vs the standard silicone - silicone gave me friction rash. The plugs fit snuggly and are easy to insert and remove. The fit is firm enough that I am not worried about them falling out. My only problem is what to do with the rest of the plugs supplied; I don't have 9 other friends with Garmin VA3M's to share them with!CHARGING/DATA CORD (3 Star all categories): I found the cords worked well for charging and data transfer. Comparable to the original cord that came with my VA3M. The extra length is a plus; nearly twice that of the originally supplied cord. However, the connection fit to the VA3M is VERY TIGHT. I questioned whether I actually wanted to try pushing it in, or just returning it. After some closer observations, I did give it a push in, and it connected. To remove, without fear of damaging the port edges or the connection pins, I made an extremely cautious effort to pull it evenly and perfectly straight out. This took some effort. Two more attempts showed an ever so slightly easing of insertion and extraction force required, but not a progressively easing. My long term concern is will this tight fit eventually alter how the Garmin cable fits (easy yet snug insertion and extraction). The cable itself does not seem as robust as the Garmin supplied cable; it is a bit thinner. As I straightened it with a very mild amount of pressure, I heard "stretching" type sounds and sensations from inside the cable. This only happened once, and the cables appeared to function normally after this.

One Quit Working
The cables work pretty well, but required some help. When I got them, both were very snug fitting in the charging port on my vivoactive 3, hence, probably why some reviewers indicated the cable wouldn't stay engaged. I decided to file "lightly", the plastic boot area, indicated in the attached photo. When I say lightly, I mean, file and try. I only had to remove, basically the sheen from the plastic until it would snap into place and stay. I certainly didn't want it to be a loose fit. After that, they both worked perfectly. I did like the fact they are both about 12in. longer then the Garmin cable that came with it. And I like the port covers as well, less chance of grime and corrosion getting in there. With the one caveat, I would say they are a good deal for the money.Update: Changing my rating on this product. One of the cables quit working after only a few times of use. It still snaps in solidly, but doesn't charge or connect to the computer. So far the other one still works but now I'm leery for how long.

Perfect
My puppy chewed the original cord days after I got the watch. These cords work perfectly and it's really nice having two. I have one in my car and another in my bedroom. The rubber plugs are nice too. I was using the white one forever and just lost it, so I moved to the blue. It's nice to have extras in case you lose any.

Cable Works - Kinda for a Short Period
They successfully charged my Garmin Fenix 5. After a few uses, they are no longer snug and too easily disconnect. I wouldn't buy them again.

Works Like Original Equipment
Now I have one at work, at home, and in the truck. So I'm never away from the charger. The watch itself goes several days without needing to charge, so I'm rarely in a jam. But for the occasional battery boost, good to have some spares. Fit and function are identical to the original equipment. The little plugs are interesting, but I doubt they are necessary. If you're into real dirty stuff, though, probably a helpful item. Just working out though, sweat and water if you swim, they are not necessary. They might leave a little oval shaped dent in your skin if you wear the watch tight. I don't really use them.
