Significantly better than the 1x model from the same seller
At this price and with that name a plastic chess set had better be just about perfect. I earlier got and reviewed the 1x tournament model and had problems with it but still gave it 4 stars and a nod for marketing moxie. The 4x model is much better, close to perfect for a plastic set, heavy, attractive and nicely proportioned, though the board does not lie as perfectly flat out of the box as did the earlier one. Be aware though that it is very large, bigger than any tournament set I’ve ever used or indeed seen. While I like that, some opponents might be a bit taken aback. Looks great on my coffee table, excellent for analyzing.
