To start with, I received the wheel cleaner yesterday on Amazon. First thing I noticed was the smell, through the box. Figured the bottle leaked, but nope. This product smells through the container, through a bag, through the box! Not only is the smell strong, but it's a chemical smell. Not good.So my first impression wasn't great. The bottle was nothing special looks-wise, simple manual trigger sprayer. Surprised to see on the list of ingredients lime for fragrance. Lime? But I digress.The main reason I rated it 5 stars? The performance. After two minutes of leaving it sprayed on my wheels, it began to change color to purple. The areas with the most visible brake dust/dirt changed the darkest color, everywhere else still a nice hue of purple.Unfortunately I was a dummy and forgot to rinse the wheels first! Bad me. But it still worked quite well, although I used much more product than necessary. After applying it, waiting, and lightly cleaning with a soft wheel cleaner I rinsed, and holy hell this worked!Wheels came out fantastically clean. Like, unimaginably clean. My wheels hadn't been cleaned in about a full month, which is the longest I've ever let my wheels sit. Rest of the car was cleaned but I had no wheel cleaner for a month until this came in.As an amateur detailer it was either this or Sonax and the reviews seemed just as good for this. I've got to say I'm pleasantly surprised at the performance of this product at the price point, and would gladly buy this over Sonax (even if there was a minimal price difference).I wish einszett would put some better fragrance in the product, since it absolutely reeks to the point of storing it outside. But since it's cheap enough I can live with using it occasionally.I'd absolutely recommend this product. Just make sure your sprayer works properly- mine doesn't, so Amazon is replacing the product for me. Great customer support as always.

One of the more effective wheel cleaners I've tried, it keeps my wheels clean for up to two weeks when the cheap stuff only lasts a few days at most. The color change is nifty.I find it's most effective if you spray your wheels with water, brush them, and then rinse before applying the ColourTec (though wet wheels make the color change less noticeable).I'm knocking off a star because this stuff smells AWFUL. It literally smells like skunk spray. The odor stunk up the indoor closet I keep my cleaning supplies in so I moved it outside to our utility closet. Friends and neighbors agree "smells like a skunk". LOL. I wish einszett's previous wheel cleaner were still available!

It doesn't work as much as it states, I would rather buy from on the shelf products at local autoparts. It smells very strong recommend double bagging and storing in the garage.

This is a great no scrub wheel cleaner. You spray it on and wait for the color to change to purple and then you spray off. I typically leave it on the wheels for a few minutes longer and spray it off with a strong stream of water. I don't leave it on long enough for it to dry on the wheels.The only downfall is that it doesn't last very long and the smell is pretty strong. The 16.9 oz bottle lasted me about 3 car washes. It could be that I'm using too much at a time and I admit that I'm a little liberal with the spray, but by using that much, it really does a great job of cleaning my wheels without having to scrub.I wash my car once a week so my wheels accumulate brake dust, but not to the point it's caked on. So, I'm not sure how well this stuff will work if your wheels have a heavy layer of brake dust/grime.Thinking about picking up the 1.3 gallon size.

Havent gotten a chance to properly use it yet, but BE WARNED that this stuff smells through the bottle, the bag, and the shipping box. This isn't a flaw in the product, this is simply a trait of the main ingredient thioglycolic acid. you might recognize it as the same stuff they use to perm your hair. this is the exact same smell, except very strong. This stuff definitely smells more than Sonax FE and Griots heavy duty wheel cleaner.This means that this product must have a higher concentration of thioglycolic acid, so I expect this wheel cleaner to work very well, will update review if this is not the case.UPDATE: Was able to use it this past weekend, and the wheel cleaner works very well. dissolves iron into purple suds to be washed away. Works nicely. Still smells though...

The moment I opened the box, it hit me: this product smells like crap. It does do a good job of cleaning the wheels especially when you follow up with a brush.As with any product of this nature I'm concerned that it causes damage to the wheel's finish. I'm not sure how safe it is in the long term. I would err on the side of caution and follow the instructions exactly as printed on the bottle, not letting the product sit and rinsing it off as soon as possible.Due to the terrible smell this product gives off, even when brand new in the bottle, I would not recommend you purchase it if you can't store it in a garage or outdoors.

Best value i could find for a product that will actually clean your rims. There is nothing like this available over the counter so don't waste your time. I had about 5 years o build up on my all season aluminum rims. Two applications later they are like new. Product does not disappoint

This is the best wheel cleaner I have ever used. I have used some American wheel cleaning products which did not seem to help remove brake dust and grime. I will certainly buy einszett again.PS: Amazon please reduce the price of this wheel cleaner by $4. Now that Canadian tire has Sonax products on their shelves, Sonax's wheel cleaner is sold for $16 CAD sometimes at the Canadian tire.

Cleans very well but has a distinctive smell--somewhat like that of a skunk.

You won't find a better wheel cleaner - this stuff works great (unlike more Tire store brands). Makes cleaning wheel quick and easy, even with months of build up! Worth every penny.
